How to Keep Your Garage Clean During the Summer
*This is a sponsored post, but regardless opinions are 100% my own.
Your garage can be hard to keep clean between a car, spills, clutter, and dirt that can enter through the garage door. However, there are some easy ways to keep everything in order in this area of the house. Consider an epoxy garage floor for high traffic areas so your garage will look it’s best all year around.
Organize and draw a floor plan
Part of your spring cleaning should be to clean out the garage and sort through anything that can be thrown out or donated to help free up any available space. Before placing items back, though, be sure to draw a floor plan showing where each piece should go. Try to group similar items near each other, such as lawn care, storage, and car supplies. Free up more space by placing bulkier items, like lawnmowers, into corners so that they do not get in the way.
Other storage solutions include cabinets, peg boards, and even overhead storage to efficiently keep items in places where you can easily find and reach them. Giving everything a place will help get rid of any clutter and unnecessary things in your garage. Getting rid of clutter is important because this can lead to dust, and even create homes for animals such as mice and insects. Be sure to follow the floorplan throughout the summer, and even the rest of the year, to help avoid doing this again in the future.

Consider different flooring options
The standard concrete garage floor has many benefits, such as being cost effective, can be difficult to keep fresh. Other options to use for your garage floor are rubber tiles and epoxy. Rubber tiles can be easy to install, increase grip for the tires of your car, and keep liquids off of the surface by keeping them below the tiles. These tiles are perfect for keeping your garage dry. Epoxy flooring can also be beneficial. This type of flooring creates a solid, almost plastic-like, layer on top of the existing floor. Epoxy is easier to mop and clean than a concrete floor would be. If you’re interested in this option, take a look at Epodex’s epoxy resin. Choosing the proper flooring can be crucial to keeping your garage easy to clean.

Take the time
Your garage can require regular cleaning just like the rest of your home. Be sure to take some time each week or month to go through and mop, clean, and dust the different areas of the garage to remove any dirt and grime that has built up. This cleaning period can also be an excellent time to throw out any empty containers or items not being used.
