10 Ways to Keep the Kids Busy
If there is one thing about kids, they tend to get bored easily. I love my kids, but I don’t want them to get bored and ask me a million questions. When they start getting bored, I start getting really creative with everything I can keep them busy with.
#1. Arts and crafts- Most kids love arts and crafts of some sort. My kids have always loved arts and crafts. However, I have gotten to a point where I just keep an arts and crafts basket and they can grab it when they want, within reason of course.
#2. Let them help you clean- When my kids get bored and I want them to stay busy, I request their help with cleaning.
#3. Reading a book- I don’t care who you are, you can always find time for a book. Books are also the perfect thing when you want to keep your kids busy.
#4. Have a playdate with a friend- This can keep your kids busy for hours! Inviting a friend over to play and them sending them to the backyard to use their imagination. Hours of endless play!
#5. Have a party- You don’t need to have an incredible reason to have a “party.” When it comes down to it, you can have a tea party, water party, paint party, or anything else your kids are interested in.
#6. Games on the iPad- I know kids should have time outside, but sometimes they just need some time on the iPad!
#7. Movie time- Why not set up a little movie theater and let your kids have a movie-a-thon. Movies are a great way to help your kids stay busy.
#8. Organization- Think about how many things you have in your house that you can organize. Allow your kids to help!
#9. Picking up sticks- Around my house, sticks fall down like crazy. One of the best ways to keep your kids busy when they’re bored is to put them to work. Picking up sticks is one of those ways. If they’re still bored after that, washing your car is always a great option.
#10. Board games- Ironically if your kids are bored, they can always play board games.
