11 Amazing Beverages You Must Try This Weekend

If you are someone who is always looking for new beverage recipes, then this article is for you. In this blog, I am about to share delicious and refreshing beverages that also have tons of health benefits.

Beverages are crucial to our day. We cannot survive 24 hours without a hot cup of tea or a soothing lemon mojito. It keeps us hydrated and it tastes awesome. There are beverages that you enjoy all seasons and become your habit. Others you enjoy seasonally, like hot cocoa in Winters is an indulgence, everyone is okay with.

Therefore, here is a list of decadent beverages that you should certainly try soon. The list has varieties of drinks, some are perfect for winters, others for summers, some are alcoholic, while most are healthy drinks that anyone can enjoy.

Why make your beverages at home? Well, because it is convenient and affordable. Also, you can control it and make it healthier at home.

So, let’s explore these recipes.

1.      Chinese Ginger tea (red dates)

Ginger tea with red dates is an authentic Chinese recipe. It is perfect for a hot beverage, or you can drink it when you are sick with cold and cough. Ginger is an exceptional herb for cold and cough, helps with inflammation, digestive and respiratory issues.

If you love tea but want to avoid sugar and milk one, this herbal tea is an exceptional replacement for that. Moreover, if you add dates to it, which is optional, it is more beneficial.

With only four ingredients, it is a quick and simple recipe. You need grated ginger, Chinese sugar or honey, red dates, and water. Just boil them together and put sugar after it boils. Add honey only after you strain it. Take it, especially if you are under the weather, it will help relieve some of the congestion.

2.     Cranberry juice

Cranberry juice may be sweet, but it has tons of health benefits. Every woman should especially take it as it helps with Urinary tract infection and kidney stones. You do not have to buy the boxed version. Buy some cranberries and pump the juice out in your home.

It aids the body to develop immunity against various other diseases. But only if you drink the organic one, and not the one loaded with sugar and other fruits.

3.     Hibiscus Agua Fresca

It is a sweet and refreshing summer drink with hibiscus. The Hibiscus plant has the highest quantity of antioxidants, which makes it a healthy drink. You can drink normal hibiscus tea, or you can try this tangy and sweet version with watermelon for your summer drinks cravings.

For one person, you need one cup of water, one tea bag or leaves of hibiscus tea, and seedless watermelon seeds (1 cup) and 2 cups of strawberry, fresh or frozen.

Brew the hibiscus tea, and blend watermelon and strawberries in a jar. Then strain it in a glass.

Add the tea and let it cool for 2 hours or more. Garnish it and enjoy this naturally sweet and healthy drink.

4.     White tea

White tea comes from the same plant as other teas, but it is high in antioxidants. Drinking it every day is beneficial as it helps you fight cancerous cells.

You can make white tea in many forms, by adding ginger or lemon to it. You can even drink cold white tea as a summer beverage. White tea is rich in antioxidants, the quantity may even be higher than hot white tea.

5.     Hot chocolate

This warm beverage is healthy as it contains flavours that can help with cramps and more. Make sure you add a tbsp of cocoa powder or dark chocolate powder. Do not add sugar or too much chocolate, to make the version healthier. Instead use honey or stevia or any organic sugar that you can find.

Try adding cinnamon and other herbs in your hot chocolate to come up with a healthier version.

6.     Turmeric latte

Turmeric latte or as Indians call it ‘Haldi wala doodh’ is one of the healthiest and hearty drinks. It works best for muscle pains, cold, and cough as well.

You can make it as simple as you like or as fancy as you can. Just boil a tsp of turmeric in milk and let it come to a boil. To make it healthier, use vegan milk or add cinnamon and ginger to the milk as well.

If drinking for health benefits, take it before sleeping at night.

7. Spiced almond milk

If you are looking for a cosy milk recipe, then this is perfect for you. It is warm and hearty and almonds are great for your immunity and gut as well.

You can make it two way:

  • Once crush some raw almonds and boil it full-fat or low-fat milk. Add one piece of cinnamon, star anise, and crushed pepper and cloves. Let the milk come to a boil and add a bit of sugar or raw honey to it.
  • Alternately, use almond milk these spices to make spiced almond milk.

8. Pineapple lemonade

Bored of drinking the same old regular lemonade? Then try this amazing new, refreshing, and tropical lemonade. To make this delicious beverage, you need:

  • Sugar, lime and lemon and pineapple juice.
  • First, you need to make a simple syrup that requires one cup of water and half a cup of sugar.
  • Now, mix this with lime and pineapple and lemon juice and adequate amounts of water. After chilling it for some time, drink it and enjoy the hot weather.

9. Lavender latte

Coffee is a warm and addictive drink which provides you with instant energy. It is one beverage that you can drink any time of the day or in any season. If you prefer to drink a latte, then you should try this lavender latte at home. It is inexpensive, and you can make a delicious and exotic cup of coffee at home too.

  • What you need to do is buy some dried lavender flowers.
  • Then boil it with water and sugar to make lavender syrup.
  •  Then, you can make the latte like you normally do and then add the lavender syrup to it.

10. Pineapple and mango Agua Fresca

Mango and pineapple agua fresca is one refreshing drink that you will like. It is not alcoholic, so your kids can enjoy it too.

  • 4 cups of pineapple cored, peeled, diced
  • 3 cups mangoes peeled, pit, and sliced
  • Lime juice- 2tsp
  • Simple syrup- 2-3 tbsp
  • Water- 4 cups
  • Blend mangoes and pineapples together.
  • Strain it and add the simple syrup and lime juice to it.
  • Chill it properly and drink it. Or you can make popsicles out of it too and enjoy in the scorching heat.

11. Amla juice

Amla or Indian Gooseberry is one of the best immunity builder fruits that everyone must consume. You can eat it in vegetable form, or you can make a drink out of it as well. It is rich in vitamin C and B and calcium.

It is fairly simple to make amla juice. All you need is:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 15 amlas.
  • Chop the amlas and de-seed them
  • Make a paste using amlas and water
  • Strain it using a sieve and save the juice
  • Store in an air-tight container.
  • Dilute it with water and enjoy.
