40 Things About Me

40 Things About Me

In honor of the big 40 I thought it would be fun to let you in on 40 things about me. Some of them only a few people know while others most people know. So in the spirit of turning 40 here are 40 Things About Me.

I LOVE Chocolate any kind will do, but I prefer milk chocolate and occasionally dark chocolate.

coffee I drink lots of coffee, and I drink it until the afternoon when I switch to iced tea.

I’ve only been out of the country once and that was for a cruise to the Bahamas.

Coco Cay Bahamas

Our daughter is an only child. It’s not that we couldn’t have more it was a choice we made for her to be an only child, but with 25 nieces and nephews we have it all covered. I am a mom to a 2016 graduate, this is going to be my best year yet!

I am even a great aunt to two…YIKES!!

I hate mice and snakes..both are equally disgusting.

I’m a certified elementary teacher but haven’t taught in 5 years. After those 5 years I’m finally ready to donate all of the school stuff I’ve collected from teaching 10 years!

I’ve had the same best friend since kindergarten. I would literally be lost with out her I promise.

40 Things About Me

I went on a cruise once, it was okay but I prefer to road trip.

I don’t have a passport and have no desire to leave the United States.

I started blogging as a way to spend my time while being unemployed. I started Save More Spend Less with Heidi and have now moved to the lifestyle category with Life with Heidi. I’m so much happier now!!

I absolutely dread cleaning the bathroom it is the worst room in the house to have to clean.

My biggest pet peeve is someone lying to me. Just tell me the truth.

I’m honest, sometimes brutally honest, but at least you know where I stand.

My all time favorite food is Red Velvet Cake that is homemade. I would love it if I could make it taste exactly like my Nana did, but I’m getting closer.

My favorite season is Spring because that is when all things start warming up, waking up or new lives are being given.

My all time favorite blog post is Free Things to Do in Savannah, Georgia because it represents travel, and being frugal which for me go hand in hand.

Grey's Anatomy GFX

My favorite TV show is Survivor, but I watch almost all of the reality TV shows even though I know it’s not all “real”. But I also enjoy Grey’s Anatomy, General Hospital, Gold Rush, and Alaska the Last Frontier to name a few.

We have two dogs for pets Biscuit who is a Golden Retriever and Diesel who is a Red Heeler. Both are equally as spoiled as our daughter!

Some of the items on my bucket list include, visiting the Grand Canyon, Walt Disney World, and traveling to all 50 states.

I am hardworking, probably to hard some days because I don’t want to quit and when you work from home it’s tough for those lines to be blurred.

I LOVE to travel with the family and even with my friends either way is always an adventure.

Kayaking is a fun thing and I could easily do it for a hobby, if I had a good person to help me steer! I’ve kayaked in the ocean and at a zoo and both were equally as rewarding.

My favorite sweet is ice cream I could eat it everyday easily. But if I had to pick I would say Bunny Tracks is my favorite flavor for right now anyway!!

Brady and I have been together for 14 years! I’m a super lucky girl to have such a great guy!

My dream house would be something like a log cabin in the country and just big enough for our family. I don’t need fancy things, I’m kind of a simple girl.

I love to read, and read at least one book a week. Sometimes it is even more than that if I find something I really enjoy.

I don’t love to cook, but I can cook and do it almost daily. But Brady is the true chef of the house!!

In the last year I’ve learned to let go of the things in life that cause me negativity. While it is hard at first, along the journey you truly become happier than you have been in years. It is well worth it and I’m glad that at 40 I don’t have to have approval of people that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

The most important things in life aren’t things at all. Remember that and you will be on your way to a happier, healthier life.
