Pull out the cute PJs, collect your favorite snacks, and get ready for a great night: it’s time for a slumber party! Just because you’re grown up doesn’t mean a sleepover can’t be fun! If anything, there’s more to enjoy. Alcoholic beverages like wine and beer that you don’t have to sneak? Yep. More money to go all-out on party favors? Definitely. No bed time? Well…that’s one thing we may actually miss.
As a full-fledged adult, you also have more to celebrate and more to kick back from. A slumber party with your friends is the one thing you didn’t realize you needed (and the one thing that you’ve probably missed!). While you can still stick to traditional activities (such as makeovers and excessive movie marathons), you can switch things up as well (take a look at https://www.scmalestrippers.com for one fun entertainment idea!). Here are five ways to have a phenomenal time at your adult sleepover.
1. Cocktails and Drinking Games
We love to drink responsibly. What’s more responsible than alcohol consumption in the safety of your own home? If you and your fellow slumbers are into adult beverages like wine, beer or spirits, we have the perfect place for you to pick up those fun drinks: Columbia Distributing! Columbia Distributing is a company that provides all of the alcoholic beverages you could ever need: we’re talking beer, wine, spirits (such as tequila, gin, vodka, brandy, rum, etc.), hard ciders…need we say more? Think of all the exciting cocktails you can make after shopping with Columbia Distributing. You could even have a themed cocktail for your party! Go ahead and get yourself what you need (if you’re gin shopping, you could look at this northern ireland gin as an option) and start mixing the perfect alcoholic drink.
Here are a few easy cocktails to mix up for your slumber party:
- Gin + Tonic: tonic water, gin, and lime wedges
- Margarita (on the rocks): tequila, flavored syrup (original or fruit-flavored), lime wedges, salt, and ice
- Rum Punch: dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine
Once everyone has their cocktail of choice mixed up, it’s time for the drinking games! A few classic ideas are Never Have I Ever,
Flip Cup, and Drunk Jenga. If you want to switch it up, create your own drinking game! For example:
- Watch a movie or TV show and make a list of rules to go with them. For example: If you’re watching “Bridesmaids”, make a rule to drink every time someone says any wedding-related word. (Such as “wedding”, “maid of honor”, “bridesmaid”, “groom”, etc.)
- Pick a fairly common word that’s used often. Whenever someone says that word, they have to finish their drink. For example: if you pick the word “food”, the next time someone says “I could go for some food right now”, they have to finish their drink.
There are several other silly games you can come up with. now is the time to be creative!
Remember: even though you are drinking safely in your own home, binge drinking is never a good idea. Moderation is key, so be conscious of when you’ve had enough.
2. Weed and Edibles
Similar to enjoying a few cocktails at home, it’s a great (and safe!) idea to light a blunt (or two) while at the slumber party if it’s legal in your state. With marijuana steadily becoming legalized in more states, companies in the cannabis industry have gotten creative with their dispensaries.
For example, WeedMaps is a weed delivery service! Yes, it’s possible: you can get high without even leaving the house. WeedMaps finds dispensaries (such as a Santa Rosa recreational dispensary) that delivers the goods to you. Edibles, strains of sativa, premium cannabis, and all of the best products you can imagine will be readily delivered to you. Can’t get much sweeter than that.
Friendly reminder: the same way you want to be aware of your alcohol consumption, please don’t go crazy with the goods. You’ll want to be able to enjoy your high.
3. Mani-Pedi at Home
Manis and pedis are a timeless sleepover tradition. Painting each other’s nails is a staple for slumber parties across the United States. Just because you’re older doesn’t mean you don’t want a fresh set of nails! While you’re looking for supplies for the manicures, check out ManiMe. ManiMe is a nail extension company that has everything you need to dazzle up your nails. Beautiful colors of nail polish? Got it. Gorgeous gel nail art? Yep, in stock. Sets that look as good as the ones in the salon? Oh, definitely! Visit ManiMe to shop through shades of gel polish, accessories (such as glitter!), and other nail essentials.
In addition to the essentials listed above, remember to pick up the other essential like nail polish remover, nail file, nail clippers, cotton balls, top coats, cuticle oil, and a cuticle pusher.
4. Karaoke
Grab a microphone, pick a song, and get ready to put on one hell of a show. Even if you’re not Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston, it’s still a lot of fun to let a couple of notes fly. Picking songs to sing and perform to is a great way to let loose at a sleepover. Plus, to make this even more fun, only pick songs that were the jam during your childhood! You’d be surprised at how easily throwback hits like “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” or “Purple Rain” can you put you in a great mood.
5. Meditate
One of the best things about having a group of friends is that you truly get to experience life together. The ups and downs, the highs and lows, and everything in between. Sure, having fun is important. But healing is just as necessary! Why not do it in a group setting? You can save this for the morning after, but it’ll be pretty peaceful to have a meditation session with your best friends. Something about collective comfort is just heartwarming to the soul. Including this sweet act during a slumber party will definitely leave you in good spirits.
Here are a few tips for meditating in a group setting:
- Make a playlist of soothing songs that will calm everyone down. This music should be peaceful, and bring everyone to a nice and comfortable ease. To continue to create a relaxing mood, light a few incense sticks or have an oil diffuser running in the background.
- Have everyone write down personal mantras, intentions, or prayers that they’ll want to focus on during meditation. They’ll repeat these to themselves silently throughout the session. Or, have a friend be the “leader” of the session by saying these mantras aloud for everyone to hear.
- Into crystals and stones? Perfect! Once you cleanse and charge these crystals, pass them out to your friends and let them meditate with the stone’s energy. Afterwards, cleanse and charge them again for restoration.
- Once the meditation session is finished, have everyone journal their initial thoughts and reactions. They can take these home and refer to them whenever they decide to meditate again.
