A Guide To Saving In Every Single Area Of Your Life
Do you want to save money in every single area of your life? Things are costing more than ever these days. There’s clothes. There’s food. There’s even entertainment. Going to watch a film can leave you needing to remortgage your house! These tips and ideas will help you to save money in every single area of your life. Start using them now and you could be so much better off.
Saving On Health And Fitness
So much more of an emphasis is being put on health and fitness these days than there ever has been in the past. In the past, most people were just concerned about being skinny. Now, people know that it’s far more important to be fit and healthy. Looking good comes as a bonus!
Gym memberships can be expensive. Eating right can be expensive. Buying supplements and things like that when you get serious about your routine can also be super expensive! So how can you save on health and fitness? Well, you don’t need a gym membership. There are so many amazing exercises you can do outdoors, and even in your living room. If you know you won’t stay motivated enough, then you can download apps or buy a few pieces of equipment to help you along. Not sure what to do? You don’t need a PT. There are many cost effective plans that will work for you.
When it comes to eating, try buying cheaper brands of the things you usually buy. Don’t be fooled into buying those ‘diet’ meals either. Whole foods are the best, and you can make many meals out of them. By making a healthy diet plan to stick to, you’ll know exactly what to buy so you don’t waste money.
As you’re concerned about being healthy and fit, stick to water when you go out to eat. You could save 10-20% over a period of time this way!
Saving On Hair And Beauty
High quality makeup is super expensive, as is having your hair done. There are numerous ways you can save in this area of your life. Let’s say you need a new face mask. Don’t rush out to buy one. See if you have the ingredients to make a natural one in the house instead. Instead of paying a makeup artist to do your makeup, watch YouTube tutorials. With a little practice, you could be just as good as them! Then there are discount codes on sites like DontPayFull.com when you actually need to buy something new.
Next time you go to have your hair done, try asking your hairdresser how you can make your color/style a little less high maintenance. Perhaps you could have a darker route to hide regrowth.
Saving On Your Weekly Food Shop
Your weekly food shop is a necessity, but that doesn’t mean you should spend a fortune each time you go. The first thing you should do is plan for one big trip a week. Only go food shopping if there are ten items or more on your list. The more frequent trips you make to the store, the more you’re spending on food and petrol. It’s way more cost effective for you to go just the once.
Make sure you go shopping with a list. If you plan your meals as mentioned earlier, you’ll know exactly what you need to put on your list. Stick to this list, and don’t even go into the aisles that you don’t need to look at. Make the most of rewards cards too, and keep an eye out for bonuses and things that supermarkets might send you in the post.
If you can go shopping without your kids (if you have them), that’s even better. Chances are you’ll be duped into buying them something as you shop. You might be surprised to realize that many cheaper brands are the same, if not better than the big name brands. Try them!
It can make sense to buy in bulk at times too. Maybe you could prepare meals and freeze them, or stockpile toilet roll when there’s a good deal on. You’re always going to need it!
You should be eating lots of veggies for your health as it is, so why not try starting your own herb and veg garden? Start off small and then build yourself up. You’ll always have delicious, fresh veg to use in your recipes this way.
Saving On Entertainment
Saving on entertainment can be tough when you have a family. Going out together once a month as a treat is great. Maybe go to the cinema, or go to a theme park. However, there are so many other ways you can enjoy yourselves and bond. How about packing a cost effective picnic, going for a walk, and setting up somewhere?
There are many free museums and tours you can take too, depending on where you are in the world. Host your own movie nights too. You can rent films for cheap, or use something like Netflix. Getting your kids into things like reading and crafts will ensure they’re always entertained too. Be sure you check if there are discount codes available, as it’s a great way to save a little cash.
Also, it’s unbelievable how much fun families can have with just a few bits and pieces, for instance, a tennis ball and a few rackets. Get outside and play in the garden!
Saving On Travel
Saving on travel is crucial, as it’s probably one of the most expensive things for families. Make sure you look for trips and holidays at the right times of year. It’s much cheaper to take your children away on a trip during term time, but you’ll need to clear this with the school and ensure that you won’t be fined for it. You don’t want your kids to miss too much.
Another way to save on travel every day is to ensure you know exactly where to get the most fuel for the least money in your area. Becoming a careful driver rather than an aggressive driver will also help you to save throughout the course of the year!

A gym membership is really expensive, and most people will go regularily for a month or so, and then stop going , while they are still locked in a 12 month contract. Like your article suggests, you could buy some equipment for home and likely get more use out of it. I get use out of my treadmill because I plopped it right in front of my tv. I wouldn’t go to the gym to use a treadmill, so it made sense to buy one instead.
