A Truly Inspiring Story The Queen of Katwe

*I received an all expenses paid trip to LA to provide coverage of The BFG Event, however as always opinions are 100% my own. #TheBFG #TheBFGEvent #QueenofKatwe #FutureWorm

Back in June (it now seems like years ago) I was able to screen Queen of Katwe along with several other bloggers and to say it was amazing doesn’t do it justice. I LOVED that the movie was based on a True Story, and because she had a loving family and support from her community I believe it allowed her to believe in herself and achieve her dreams. With a little determination, hard-work and dedication all things are possible even though you might not believe it yourself at first. Which is more than parallel to life if you think about it. Some of the biggest successes in life are those who reach for the stars even when the odds are stacked against them. Be sure to take your family to see Queen of Katwe on September 23rd because everyone needs to learn to DREAM!!

A Truly Inspiring Story The Queen of Katwe

The film also stars Lupita Nyong’o and is directed by Mira Nair. QUEEN OF KATWE is based on the vibrant true story of Phiona Mutesi, a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda who is introduced to the game of chess by Robert Katende, a former missionary and soccer coach, and goes on to become an international chess champion.
