A few months ago Liz tried her hand at rescuing a dog that was going to be our new pet. But she and Austin decided that they would be the ones keeping her, which was a blessing in disguise for Brady and I. But then tragedy struck and they had a small house fire, thankfully the kids as well as the dogs both made it out of the house safely. But then they had to start looking for a new home to rent. They found the perfect house but there was a small hiccup…they couldn’t have a pet. After a little bit of negotiations and an up in the initial price of the deposit their new landlord decided that they could keep one pet and only because they have had him since he was a baby. But then Lucy had to find another home because he wasn’t budging on the one pet only. So Lucy came to live with us for about a week, but we quickly learned she was going to be to “high maintenance” for us. So we told Liz and they were on a home hunt once again. Lucy has found her forever owner and the kids get visiting rights because their friend Caleb took her for them. So rescuing a dog is a lot of work and not for the faint of heart but I’m super proud of Liz & Austin for making the best out of a tough situation.
