Are you thinking of taking a vacation as soon as coronavirus goes away?
Being cooped up for weeks on end will make you go a little stir crazy, as we’re all finding out now. But, where will you go when you’re allowed to travel again?
Today, we’re going to tell you why Singapore should be your first vacation destination, post-quarantine. It’s a vibrant and beautiful country that is just what you need to help you forget about the events of the last few months. Between the amazing people and the exotic scenery, there are countless reasons to visit Singapore.
1. It’s Multicultural
Singapore is actually one of the most multicultural countries in the entire world. Not only that, but there’s actual racial harmony, with celebrations and festivals all year to pay tribute to this diversity. There are 4 national languages (including English), many temples and churches, and delicious foods from a wide range of culinary backgrounds.
Nowhere in the South Pacific will you find such an array of cultures. Singapore is the definition of a melting pot.
2. Amazing Restaurants
It may be a tiny island, but Singapore is home to numerous world-class restaurants that serve up all sorts of cuisine. You can start with the Michelin guide to Singapore, which should give you a pretty good indication of the quality and range of foods.
If you want something authentically Singaporean, numerous restaurants have opened up in the last few years serving up local fare.
3. Cool Sights
Because of the cultural diversity in Singapore, there is no shortage of things to do and see on the island. You can take a hop on hop off bus through the city to take in the hustle and bustle or take a trip through the quaint neighborhoods for something a bit more low key.
Singapore is also packed with cocktail bars, including 3 in the World’s Top 50 Bars list, more than any other Asian country.
4. Amazing Arts
If you’re into visual art, music, or literature, Singapore has got you covered with its growing arts scene. They show a lot of appreciation for their artists as well, with festivals celebrating writers and painters, as well as large music festivals like the Laneway Festival, Neon Lights, and Ultra Music Festival.
5. Year-Round Festivals
Speaking of festivals, Singapore has festivals all year round for just about anything you could think of. It starts in January with the Chinese New Year, Thaipusam in February, the Dragonboat Festival in June, and Singapore Food Festival in July.
There’s almost no bad time to go to Singapore, but it’s always good to check out the weather outlook before you book. Typically, the big monsoon season goes from November until March, but you can always expect a bit of rain in Singapore.
No Shortage of Reasons to Visit Singapore
These are just a few of the dozens of reasons to visit Singapore once your quarantine is over. Start looking at booking soon because you can bet that everyone else will want to book their vacations after COVID-19 leaves us for good.
