Apple Turnover Day

Apple Turnover Day is celebrated on July 5th each year. As much as I love apple turnovers I usually just stop at a local store and pick some up. Every time I have ever made them they weren’t nearly as good as what I could buy at the store! Hence the wonderful picture that I bought offline because my attempts to make them failed miserably, but the recipe I always try is this one over at All Recipes!
Usually Apple Turnovers are made with pastry dough, Granny Smith Apples and of course an assortment of spices. Maybe one day I will master the Apple Turnover but in the meantime I will just enjoy trying!!
Enjoy Apple Turnover Day!

I haven’t had an apple turnover in ages, and even longer since making them. I’d like to try this!

I love apple turnovers and pies. The most important thing in making the dough is to have the butter or shortening very cold and don’t overwork it.
