Back to school Fun
Back to school time is upon us and many of you are scrambling to get those school supply lists checked off. This is the first time in over 13 years that I haven’t had to shop for Back to school items and to be honest I’m kind of missing all of the fun. (Well, I was until I ventured into the store this past weekend, then all of the craziness hit me and I was relieved a little bit I wasn’t one of those frazzled moms!) Not all of them were frazzled, but the lists were huge, the carts were full and of course there was even that kid. You know the kid the one that looks kind of like the one below.
While you might have thought that was me pushing my cart in the other direction, it wasn’t. I just smiled politely and went on about my shopping experience taking great care to avoid those few aisles like it was plagued. I made it in and out of the store in record time, because let’s be honest.
1. There were lots of families shopping for last minute school supplies.
2. I was either thrilled or sad that I wasn’t among them filling the list and checking them at least twice.
3. As I got home and was thinking about posts I decided that from now on I will be the fun mom. You know the mom that sends half of the supplies, or sends the kids to school with messy hair. While I won’t be doing that anytime as mom as a Grandmom (In like 1000 years!) I could definitely embrace that mom.
My challenge to each and every mom this year as the Back To school Fun Fiasco starts is to embrace the fun mom side of things. Send your kid(s) to school with a fun backpack shaped like a cheeseburger. Forget to get half of the school list, or maybe just maybe forget to label all of the supplies with your kids name. Or you could send extras and be the teachers pet (I know they would love that!!)
Either way you go remember to live on the edge, have a glass of wine and be the fun mom. I promise you will thank me for it when the school list is marked off.
How is your Back to school Shopping going??

That sounds like so much fun! I myself do not miss BTS shopping but I also get you missing it for the first year after it being done.
It gets better, especially when you see the poor parents scrambling to get that last 10 cent notebook at Walmart.
