Bad Hair Day Interviewing Leigh Allyn Baker
*Disclosure: I received an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles for the coverage of several press events for Disney. All opinions are 100% my own.
Bad Hair Day is a must see movie that is going to be on the Disney Channel this Friday night!! As a parent of a teenage daughter, I could definitely relate to all of the antics in Bad Hair Day. But it isn’t just for the teenage girls, but younger girls as well as boys will enjoy this film. There were lots of times that we laughed, smiled and of course verbally agreed with the action taking place on the screen. But one of the coolest things was having Leigh Allyn Baker watch the movie right along with us. There aren’t very many moms that can say they watched a movie with Amy Duncan off of Good Luck Charlie!!
After watching the film, Leigh Allyn Baker took the time to set down with us and chat about the making of the film. But the first thing she said was actually rather surprising to me. We were the first audience that she had seen the movie with, and it was refreshing for her to hear our laughter and feel our energy, predict different things that were going to happen and so on. It was truly an amazing movie and she found the inspiration behind the movie in a way that allowed it to grab at our heartstrings, provide a unique and empowering message to all girls.
Bad Hair Day is a film that the Disney Channel worked on for only 22 days on but adults as well as kids can watch the film and get a different message. Leigh Allyn Baker said it was a fun ride from the moment she first read the script to the last finishing touches on Bad Hair Day. She had to be brave and bold to put her vision out there for the world to see! But admitted that the most fun part was ad lib-ing in certain spots of the movie.
Working with Laura Marano
Leigh Allyn Baker told us that her and Laura Marano had a very good chemistry but that she had the certain maturity and skill set to pull off the lead girl in the film. During most of the movie It was Leigh and Laura, so having the smarts and the ability to go toe to toe to an adult in a comedy she was the best choice for the role.
What’s next for Leigh Allyn Baker?
She is just like the rest of us and has hopes and dreams! But she would eventually like to develop her own series, but of course have fun while working and spending time with her boys. I honestly felt like I was sitting down talking to an old friend that actually gets writing, blogging and being a mom all at same time!
Be sure you tune into the Disney Channel and Watch Bad Hair Day February 13, 2015 at 8 pm/7 central for this great film!
