Baked Apple Sundae
Fall is that amazing time of year where the smells of spices from the kitchen make the entire house smell amazing. You know where the fresh pie in the oven makes your mouth water before you even walk in the door. The weather has not quite cooled to crisp fall days, yet but I know they are just around the corner. Over the next few weeks we are going to be gearing up for Fall Foods and I know that you will enjoy those delicious flavors as much as my family does. This baked apple sundae makes the house smell like heaven and tickles the fall lovers taste buds, try out the recipe today.
What you need to make your own Baked Apple Sundae
1/2 fresh apple per sundae
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
Vanilla bean ice cream
Caramel sauce
My favorite part of this recipe is that 1 whole apple makes enough for our “Empty Nest” House. While we aren’t full time empty nesters just yet, I’m adjusting our cooking and eating habits to start to embrace it.
How to make this yummy Baked Apple Sundae
- Preheat oven to 350ยบ Fahrenheit
- Slice apples into thin slices no larger than 1/4 inch thick.
- Mix sugar and apple pie spice. Roll apple slices in apple pie spice and sugar mix. Store remaining mix in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Place apple slices on a non greased baking sheet and place in center of oven.
- Bake apple slices until soft, 25-30 minutes.
- Place vanilla bean ice cream in dishes.
- Top withย fresh still hot apple slices to the dish and top with a drizzle of caramel sauce.
- Serve right away while apples are still warm. Enjoy.
