Be Somebody
*I received digital access to this movie in order to provide my honest opinion. As always opinions are 100% my own and a no spoiler review.
Paramount’s new film BE SOMEBODY, starring actor/creator Matthew Espinosa in his feature film debut as fictional pop superstar Jordan Jaye.
I will have to say that at first Be Somebody was a little slow and I wasn’t sure I was going to make it a full hour and half. But just when I thought I couldn’t take any more it turned the corner into a heartwarming story. While I love a good love story, this one wasn’t as over the top as most of them and it was subtle hints that took place throughout the movie. The pair couldn’t have been any more different, but the lessons they learned along the way are something that everyone needs to remember. One of my favorite quotes from the movie was when Jordan said,
“Nobody has it all figured out, believe me”
I find that very parallel to life in several ways. We all pretend we know what is happening but in reality there is something in our way of our success. Another quote that stood out is,
“Life doesn’t come with guarantees sometimes you have to take a chance.”
If you don’t take chances in life, chances are your life is pretty boring. So take a chance on something that is out of your comfort zone and embrace it. Be Somebody is a must watch movie this summer!
Eager to escape the burden of fame, Jordan abandons his tour bus and meets an independent, small town girl with big dreams, played by Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue, Wayward Pines). Together, they embark on an unexpected journey of friendship, first love and self-discovery. BE SOMEBODY is a fresh and modern romance for today’s Gen Y & Z, about embracing who you are and finding the courage to pursue your dreams in the face of overwhelming odds.
The film is produced by Studio 71 and will be distributed in theaters on June 10th, 2016 through a partnership with Tugg, a web-based cinema on demand platform that lets audiences request showings of movies they want in local theaters nationwide.
