Beef Stew Recipe

Beef Stew Recipe

Beef stew is one of my all time favorite meals to enjoy in the winter time. But making it homemade is much better than out of a can and easy to do as well.

Here’s how I make this hearty dish.
Prepare your beef tips with the following seasoning: salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. I just add it until it looks right but I would say I use less than a half of a teaspoon of each one.

In a large pan put a couple teaspoons of oil into the pan on medium heat. Them once the pan and oil is hot place your beef tips into the pan. Cover with a lid and let them brown on one side. Then stir the meet and do the same thing to the other side.

Once your beef tips are brown you can then add about a cup of water making your own beef stock. Then add in a couple beef bouillon cubes or a can of beef stock. Cover the beef tips and let simmer about 30 minutes.

While your beef is simmering, chop up one small onion, a few potatoes, and carrots. We use about a cup of carrots, 4 regular potatoes and a can of corn as well as green beans.

After chopping up your ingredients add the onions, carrots and potatoes to  your meat and beef stock. Cook until tender then add in your corn and green beans.

Next, you can mix up a thickening agent such as corn starch and water. I add a few teaspoons of corn starch into a small bowl add drops of water to make a slurry. Then once it is ready pour slowly into beef stew mixture and stir.

It will make your soup into more of a stew. Serve hot by itself or with biscuits.

Got a bit of snow today, so this looks like the perfect dinner for tonight! I love that the ingredients are things that I would normally have in my kitchen and don’t have to make a trip to the store to make this hearty stew! I can’t wait to try it!

I love your beef stew recipe. I make mine similarly except I use a chuck roast, brown it on both sides. cut into small chunks and go from there.
