Best Safeway Graduation Cakes

Spring is a time of warmer weather, blooming flowers, and graduations. There are few moments in life more important than a graduation. It’s the time when parents reward and celebrate the deserving student in their life for all their hard work and dedication. No graduation party or dinner is complete without a delicious, professional-looking bakery cake. Safeway is one of the places who offers the best graduation cakes. Read about their prices, sizes, designs and order process.

Cake Pricing and Sizing:
Safeway cakes prices may vary according to location, design, size, and personal customization, so the prices listed below are just estimates. You can visit or call your local Safeway bakery for more precise information regarding the actual prices.
*8 inch round cake will cost around $8-9 for a single layer; $16-17 for two layers
*Cupcakes costs around $13 for one dozen; $22 for two dozen
*Sheet cakes come in multiple sizes including the popular quarter sheet ($30), half sheet ($45), or full sheet ($55)

Cake Designs:
With numerous, unlimited design and style options, narrowing your choice to just one cake may prove to be challenging. Whether it’s a simple “Congratulations” you’re after or something more complex, Safeway has you covered. If you’re unsure of where to start, the Safeway bakery has a flip book containing multiple pages of photos and numbered designs, themes, and ideas to choose from. If you’re looking for something more unique and personalized, they can assist you in customizing the perfect graduation cake.

Choosing a cake theme or design should never be a stressful process. A simple “Congratulations” with your graduate’s name and graduation year is always a popular and easy option, along with adding a border and lettering using their school colors.

Have a graduate with a fun and outgoing, sense of humor? Consider adding a funny quote or saying to your graduation cake instead of a more traditional, formal message or design. For casual parties on the go such as outdoor picnics, parties at the lake, or potlucks, cupcakes are a convenient, less messy option. Athletes may get a kick out of a cake shaped sports ball. What better way to congratulate a hard-earned sports scholarship, or achievement than with a football, basketball, baseball, tennis, or soccer shaped cake?

Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to ask your Safeway bakery employee for assistance should you get stuck. They can point you in the right direction if you’re unsure of which design, size, shape, flavor or color to order.

How to Order:
Online ordering isn’t available so a quick trip or phone call to your local Safeway bakery will be necessary when placing your order. Use the store locator to find which store is closest to you. A Safeway bakery employee will ask you a few questions and fill out an order form with the information you provide such as the design, size, flavor and the date you need your cake to be ready for pick up. Please allow the proper amount of time when placing your order, as a few days-notice is typically required for custom orders. When your cake is ready to be picked up, you will also need to return to the same Safeway store where you placed your order, as they do not deliver.

When the day of your party or event finally arrives, make sure to get plenty of pictures of the cake before it is cut. Don’t forget to grab a quick shot or two of your graduate posing beside or behind the cake, as a cake is the perfect complementary photo backdrop. Most importantly, don’t forget to relax, have fun, create lots of lasting memories and enjoy your cake!
