Best Super Bowl Cities For Travelers

Travel

There is so much to go into the Super Bowl each year, and the NFL lines are just a slight part of it. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest events of the year, and it combines football, entertainment, and travel all into one massive weekend.

The NFL is always looking for the top cities and stadiums in the United States to host the Super Bowl, but location plays a key role. Some excellent cities have hosted the Super Bowl in the past, especially when it comes to traveling.

Here are five of the best cities in the United States to host the Super Bowl that would also make for a great destination for travelers.

  • Glendale, Arizona
  • New Orleans, Louisiana

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas now has a team in the Raiders, and there is a brand new multi-billion dollar stadium that just recently opened up. The NFL is planning to host the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in 2024, and it could quickly become one of the most favorite locations by NFL fans and travelers.

The Las Vegas experience is one of a kind, and this has long been one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the United States. There is so much to do in Sin City, and businesses and casinos would ramp up the entertainment schedule every time the Super Bowl comes to town.

One other big advantage of Las Vegas is that it is known to be one of the cheapest travel destinations in the U.S.

Miami, Florida

The NFL has been known to choose Miami as a Super Bowl city, and that never draws any complaints from fans or people that simply want to travel. The experience and energy at South Beach is terrific, and there is plenty to do that doesn’t include going to the beach either.

Another huge bonus of having the Super Bowl in Miami is that the game takes place in February. Most of the United States is covered in snow, but all you will find is sunshine and good times in Miami, Florida.

Chicago, Illinois

Don’t expect to see the city of Chicago hosting the Super Bowl anytime soon, unless the Bears can build a new indoor stadium. In February, the weather in Chicago is not conducive to host a major outdoor event, but that’s a shame to football fans and travelers.

If Chicago was ever chosen as a host city of the Super Bowl, then football fans and travelers alike would find plenty of other things to do or sights to see. The Windy City has some great tourist attractions, including some of the best restaurants in the country.

Glendale, Arizona

Glendale, Arizona is the home of the Arizona Cardinals, and this is another city that the NFL tends to target when selecting potential Super Bowl cities. In case you were unaware, the temperature in Glendale is usually perfect during February, and that’s just one of the many reasons to visit the city.

The Glendale/Phoenix area continues to grow, and it has turned into a terrific tourist destination. There might be more driving involved when visiting Arizona, but it is worth seeing all that is going on.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is another city that the NFL often uses for the Super Bowl, and there are plenty of reasons for that. For one, there is a domed stadium in New Orleans, and that city is used to hosting major sporting events.

New Orleans is commonly listed as one of the top 10 travel destinations in the United States because there is so much rich history. Even if you aren’t able to get a ticket to the game, it is worth your time to travel to New Orleans for the Super Bowl each year.

This city isn’t going to be as warm as some of the others on the list, but it will provide a much better climate for people who live in the East or the North.
