Things to Check When Buying a Used Car
If we could all afford to buy a brand new beautiful car, there would be a lot of cars in the dumpster. Used cars can be great assets and can still have a lot of life left in them. However, when it comes to buying a used car there are a few things you should check!
Check the Mileage
It is important to know whether the car’s mileage is due to city driving or long-distance driving. City driving is harder on a vehicle, therefore, if the vehicle has high city mileage, you may not get a lot of life out of it. Try to look for cars that have mileage lower than 100,000 miles to improve the longevity of your vehicle.
Check for Rust
Although rust is inevitable with a used car, it is important to check where the rust is at. Look underneath the car to ensure the bottom is not rusted out. Check for rust in the engine to ensure the car has not been subdued to water damage.
Check the Tires
Tires are a normal wear and tear maintenance for any vehicle, but you want to make sure the tires will last until you can get a new pair. Make sure you have a good amount of groove on each tire. Stick a penny in-between the grooves to ensure the tires are wearing evenly on all sides.
Check the Heat
If you are buying a car in the summer, you may not think to check the heat in the car. You will regret that come winter time if you don’t. Check to make sure your heat works during cold and hot months.
Check the AC
Again, if you are buying a car in the winter, your main concern may be the heat, but it is always important to be sure what works and what doesn’t on your used car. Check the AC whether it is hot or cold to ensure you know what works. Be sure to check out Genesis of North Atlanta for all of your vehicle needs.
