Chicago with #VZWVoices #Save Our New Device
“Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Savers Voice program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.”
We finally made it to The Allerton Hotel and that became our home sweet home away from home for the next couple of days. The Allerton was built in the 1920’s and was a very nice hotel. The room was a little small for my liking, but it was cozy for the 2 days we were there. Any longer than that and I probably would have went a little stir crazy. While I was busy attending Verizon meetings Mr. SMSL done a little site seeing, shopping and just had a relaxing time away. We were in a meeting all day on Friday, June 21, 2014 with a few Verizon staff members, a Blackberry specialist as well as Andrea Woroch who was our speaker.
I learned a lot about Verizon Community we will be using, our devices, and met some really nice bloggers and Verizon staff members. We had our lunch catered in from Cosi and it was delicious!! We learned a lot about Verizon, their services and how they stay at the top of the Cellular Networks.
One of the most surprising things was this fact:
Average Smartphone user has 41 apps and spends 39 minutes a day using them. Social Media use is about 3 hours of worth of time daily.
After our lunch our New Device was finally delivered that afternoon and we were the proud new owners of the Blackberry Z10. As part of the #VZWVoices #Savers Program. Check out all of the Blackberry Goodies we received!! As with any new phone there is a learning curve, but we had our Blackberry Expert for training so we were ahead of the game a little bit.
After our meetings we had a little bit of time to get dressed and back downstairs to the lobby. We walked the the restaurant Spiaggia for a wonderful night of food, visiting, and great memories with our new friends.
Salad was Baby flowering kale with Parmigiano Reggiano, English peas, baby carrots, spring onions and buttermilk herb vinaigrette.
The main dishes were chicken or beef and I chose the beef and it was delicious. Rosemary black pepper trattoria steak with smashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, cremii mushroom puree, Parmigiano Reggiano and Spring Onions.
Dessert was heavenly!! It was a Tiramisu Tradizionale which is layered mascarpone cream with ladyfingers soaked in Illy espresso and dusted with cocoa.
After dinner and visiting we went and visited Sprinkles. Sprinkles has some amazing cupcakes and the coolest thing I have ever seen!! A Cupcake ATM that delivered a cupcake in a little box, they were delicious cupcakes and definitely a must do attraction while in Chicago. Here are a few snapshots of my trip to Chicago!! We want to go back so we have more time to do some sight seeing.
