This post is in partnership with Motif Medical, however, as always opinions are 100% my own.
Choosing the Right Breast Pump for You
The older I get the faster time flies, and now that we are expecting our first grandbaby, I swear my Nana was right. She always said, “Don’t blink, because you will miss your kids growing up.” She is right and that is something that I always tried to remember no matter how busy I was. While we are now Empty Nesters, the peace and quiet we once would have given anything for is almost deafening somedays. But as we go through life each chapter is just as nice as the one prior, with twists and turns and so much more.
This summer we have spent lots of time helping Liz and Austin prepare for the arrival of their baby boy who is due on November 5th. While she thinks the baby will wait until November to arrive, I’m betting on an October arrival, but only time will tell. As we are prepping the nursery, working on some great projects that are behind the scenes and getting our houses ready for the new baby we have talked about a lot of things.
One of the first conversations Liz and I had was whether or not she will breastfeed. I was elated when I heard the yes, I’m going to try. While we aren’t going to get too personal, I want to encourage every one of you reading this to at least consider breastfeeding. If you try breastfeeding and it isn’t for you, I strongly suggest you try pumping, because it is so much better for babies than formula. But I digress, let’s get back to the topic at hand. Picking the perfect breast pump is what we are going to be chatting about today.
First and foremost is don’t waste your money on a cheap pump. Spend money on a high-quality breast-pump because you are going to be using it, not storing it in your closet.
Check to see if there is a warranty on the breast pump. If it doesn’t have a one year warranty (at minimum) don’t purchase it. Things happen and we want you to be able to pump when you need too.
Are you going to be a full-time pumper? Or are you going to breastfeed and pump? I encourage each and every one of you to do your own research because the right pump for one, may not be the right pump for everyone. However, today we are going to be chatting about the Motif Duo Breast Pump.
The Motif Duo is a Double Electric Breast Pump that is lightweight, handheld and has different levels and settings to help you pump successfully.
The Duo’s closed system prevents backflow through a protection filter.
The single pumping option allows mom to breastfeed while pumping if she wants. To use the Duo as a single electric pump, simply remove the second set of tubing and use the port cover to close the second tubing connection.
The super-silent motor ensures that mom can pump anywhere… even when baby is sleeping nearby.
The large, backlit LCD screen lets mom keep track of battery life and record how long each pumping session lasts.
