Christmas at The Dixie Stampede
Even though the show was provided to me at a substantial discount, I only personally recommend products and or shows that I think will be good for myself and readers. Thanks to The Dixie Stampede for allowing me to review this great performance!!
After losing my father-in-law this last February the holidays just haven’t been the same. But one of his absolute favorite things to do was to go and visit the Dixie Stampede in Branson. We have been to the show several times and each time we go it is just as good as the first show. But this year was the first show that we had attended with the new LED lights and it was nothing short of magical. The experience is one that we will continue to enjoy each trip to Branson because it really is the best dinner show to attend in Branson which is probably while Bob loved it so much.
So here is a little bit about our experience, without giving away to much of the show. When you arrive to the Dixie Stampede you are instantly transported to a giant plantation with beautifully kept yards and several things to take in while you were outside. There were benches outside the building and you could see some of the horses and Belgium Homing Pigeons before you had even made it in the door for the show. The staff at the ticket counter were all very friendly and helped us even save money on the drinks for the Pre-Show! After getting our pictures taken we were off to The Carriage Room where we found a seat up in the balcony. We were able to get our drinks up at the bar and settle in to watch the show just in time.
We had 14 in our party on Saturday afternoon ranging from ages 5 months to 65 years old and we were all entertained though-out the entire experience. We arrived at the Dixie Stampede at 1:30 and went in and picked up our tickets for the 2:10 pre-show. While waiting for the show we walked around the outside of the building watching workers care for the horses while snapping pictures with the kids “by” the horses. The outside of the stable area reminded me of the inside of a stable for horses, with name plates above each of the horses. Each horse looked different from the first and were all magnificent looking animals. The horses didn’t seem to mind that there were literally thousands of people around them either, which made me worry a little less about all of the noise. The stable hands were very friendly as well when one of the eight year old twins were asking him lots of questions about the horses. He even continued his work while answering the questions, and they of course happily moved onto the next horse with him.
After the pre-show we were ushered into the arena to watch the main show. The LED lights made the perfect backdrop for each and every scene of the show and each one was as breathtaking as the one before. The MC’s horse is my favorite out of all of them, but the MC and cast aren’t the only stars of the show, one of our favorites is the dinner. Dixie Stampede’s signature four-course feast consisting of Dixie Stampede’s original creamy vegetable soup, homemade buttery biscuit, a whole rotisserie chicken, hickory-smoked barbecued pork loin, corn on the cob, herb-basted potato, a specialty dessert and unlimited beverages. They even have a Vegetarian meal available upon request.
Check out the video of “Suppertime” below on the video and I will have to say I’m not sure who was more excited, my niece Jade who was given a high five by the MC, or my mother in law who exclaimed, “That’s always been Bob and I’s favorite performer as she had tears in her eyes.”
***Please note the video is only sideways for a few seconds, someone forgot how to video!****
Jade told me later that his hands were soft as butter with a big grin on her face. The show was very fast paced, energetic, entertaining and mesmerizing and the two hours we spent there seemed like only a blink of an eye. From the first act to the last, the audience was captivated with the beauty and magnificence of not only the animals but the cast as well. We were all thoroughly impressed with the choreographed each of the moves and The Dixie Stampede is a must watch show if you are in Branson, Missouri or Pigeon Forge, Tennessee area. It’s worth the trip I guarantee it!
