Christmas Eve Coffee

Christmas Eve is a wonderful night and as parents most of us have stayed up most of the night to wrap presents at one time or another. But this Christmas season we are going to celebrate and enjoy a mug of Christmas Eve Coffee (I won’t even judge you if you have 2 or 3!) While we will be enjoying a mug or two we won’t be busy wrapping because as Empty Nesters those days are long gone. Enjoy this Christmas Eve Coffee and the kids while they are little. I promise it will be over in a blink of an eye and you will be enjoying your spouse and more quite time than you can handle. While it’s nice some days other days it is very hard to keep your chin up, but life changes and we adapt. Enjoy those little kids while you have them and hug them tight.

Christmas Eve Coffee
Ingredients
1 cup of coffee
1/2 ounce of Peppermint Schnapps
1/2 ounce of Kahlua
whipped cream
crushed peppermint
Christmas Eve Coffee
Directions
Brew coffee of your choice.
Add in the measured amounts of Peppermint Schnapps and Kahula. (I usually just eyeball it and taste test it the first go around.)
Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermints.
Enjoy one or two with your significant other while you tackle the mountain of wrapping presents or when Santa is visiting. Either way you go it will be enjoyed by all and it will be come a Christmas Eve Tradition that you will enjoy.

Hi Heidi, the coffee looks delicious, but what I really wanted to say is that I know how you feel about being empty nesters and about some days feeling very hard. I’m right there with you. We have one son and he’s long grown and on his own (about to get married in fact!), but I still long for the days when he was home with us. I suppose that never really goes away. Anyway, I hope you’re still finding some joy in life, I’m trying my best to find some too.

Hi. Can you substitute Baileys for kahlua?

Of course!! I might have to try it that way this year!

This was delicious! The only change I made was to add a bit of neutral-flavored creamer (oat milk) to my cup of coffee. I look forward to making it again! It might be a new Christmas tradition for me.

I’m obsessed with this mug. Can you tell me where you got it?

I’m pretty sure I picked it up at Target. But since I buy lots of mugs I can’t be for certain.

Thanks for sharing! Can I pre-mix anything ahead of time?

This looks so good! I’ve had it with the Peppermint before, but not the Kahlua. Can’t wait to try it!
