“Behind the Wings” – On Set with Elliot
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on August 12, 2016.
Pete’s Dragon Review
Robert Redford is probably one of my all time favorite actors which is probably dating me just a little bit. But that’s ok, I’ve embraced it and while watching Pete’s Dragon I fell in love with Elliot and Robert Redford very quickly all over again. If you haven’t seen this film, I suggest you pick up a copy today because it is magical in lots of ways. While it starts off a little sad, it quickly changes it’s pace and you see just how gentle Elliot is a well as playful. While I thought quickly that I knew just what to expect, it quickly changed and had me on the edge of my seat watching it as if I was a little kid. So instead of spoiling it for you I’m leaving with you these three quotes:
Just because you don’t see something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
If you go through life only seeing what’s right in front of you, you are going to miss out on a whole lot.
Pick up your copy today, I promise you will love it as much as I did.
