Conversations about Andi Mack
Parenting is tough but being a teen is tough too. Earlier in April I told you about Andi Mack and let me tell you, this is a must watch show for all families that have teens. We as moms want to say yes but we have to say no which is a tough job no matter which side you are on. While it sounds a little cliche saying no more often than saying yes makes you a better parent and the teen will be stronger in the end as well. Looking back at how we raised Liz, I wish we would have said no a little more often than we did.
Continuing to provide a tool for parent and families, in Part Two of Common Sense Media’s video viewer’s guide “Conversations About Andi Mack,” Youth development expert Dr. Yalda T. Uhls of Common Sense Media and families discuss the themes of teamwork, friendship and parenting styles represented in tonight’s episode. The conversations include tips and suggestions from Dr. Uhls, and insights and personal experiences from families on how to use the storytelling in the series to initiate and navigate through meaningful conversations with your family.
The series has amassed over 14 million views across linear and digital platforms to date!
Andi Mack
Everyone can relate to it
It goes through real life scenarios. Families are not perfect and they work through things together, family and life in general is everything. The unexpected is what people need to learn to embrace because that is what makes life fun and interesting. YES, YES, YES and YES!!
The teen years are tough
The teen years are tough, but hands down 12-13 are probably two of the hardest ages because you are trying to fit in and life changes. But for Andi Mack everything she knew for the last 12 years, and while it’s all laid out in one episode, the next one will be just as good. It is a show to watch with the entire family and you can even talk about what happens in the show in correlation to your family. Andi Mack is a great way to start those other wise tough conversations.
