Cookie Cutter Ornament DIY

Cookie Cutter Ornament DIY

Old cookie cutters can really bring back the nostalgia of Christmas. And as you can see here, they also make great cookie cutters! Take a look at how we turned an old cookie cutter into a fun ornament, using just the cutter and some colorful scrapbook paper. You can do the same in just minutes, and the end result is the perfect ornament for your tree or gift giving. Here is how you can get started!

Cookie Cutter Ornament DIY
Supplies needed:
Old metal cookie cutters (check thrift and antique stores, around $2 or less each)
Scrapbook paper in your choice of color
Pencil
Scissors
Twine or ribbon for hanging (we used twine but you can choose which one works for you)
Craft glue
Hot glue, glue gun

Directions:
1. Begin by turning your scrapbook paper over to the white side. Trace your cookie cutter with your pencil.
2. Cut out the design taking care to cut on the lines. Add some craft glue along the rim of the cookie cutter and press the cut out to it. Hold in place until dry and secure.

3. Once the paper is in place, take your twine and hot glue it to the back of the ornament. Hold it in place until it is secure.

Your cookie cutter ornament is now ready to be hung! Display it on your tree or tie it on to a gift. It is a fun, vintage inspired way to get into the holiday season and put those old cookie cutters to use!

These make excellent gifts and can even be made with newer cookie cutters if you wish. These would also make great items to donate to Womens’s Shelters, Nursing Homes and places that need a little bit of cheer. Have a local girl/boy scout troop, classroom, or even church youth groups make them so you can get more help  to make them in bulk. This is a great service project as well. Happy Crafting!

Love this I have several and always end up with more how cute, or even as a stencil for the kid to make more ornaments or maybe to frame a picture! Got to get to work or play!
