Crab Shack at Chimney Creek

Crab Shack at Chimney Creek

Crab Shack at Chimney Creek is the perfect restaurant for all things seafood. While we were visiting Savannah and TyBee Island we asked several “locals” where the best restaurant to eat seafood at was located. The answer was overwhelmingly the same Crab Shack at Chimney Creek because it was affordable, the best food, and the best atmosphere. So as any good tourist would, I took the advice of the locals and we headed out to Crab Shack at Chimney Creek!

From the moment we arrived on the parking lot we were swept away in the  eclectic atmosphere. As the others in my party looked around at some of the exhibits, I quickly found the hostess station and told her we needed a table for 15. I thought for a minute she didn’t hear me, but she assured me she could see what she could do. After waiting a few minutes, they decided on our dining location and quickly sat us down at tables that were next to each other.

I loved that the trees made a canopy over the tables and that the had upcycled bushel baskets into lights! They had yellow bulbs in them to keep the bugs at bay of a night, but it was functional, fun and the atmosphere was great! There were server stations, bars, tables and an amazing view of Chimney Creek to enjoy while we dined.

Even their menu was fun and filled with great choices of fresh seafood at reasonable prices. After we all made our drink selections we were able to study the menu and decide what to eat. It didn’t take Mr. SMSL and I long to decide that we wanted the Shack Specialty for two that included in season shellfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage. We ordered it for two and had more than enough for us two, so we shared with other members of our party. It included snow crab, boiled shrimp, clams, king crab legs, and crawfish.

It was all delightful, amazing, wonderful, delicious, and a great meal for the money! The corn was absolutely the juiciest corn I have ever eaten and the shrimp I pretty much devoured on my own! Our daughter even enjoyed a few crawfish!

When all was said and done I would say that this was one of my favorite stops for the entire vacation. Here is the “damage” we did on our platter of yumminess!

I loved their handwashing station that was available as you walked out the door. No fighting the lines for the restroom, and it was a convenient place to boot, they even had some amazing sugar scrub for us to use! So not only do you have a full stomach, but your hands are super soft when you leave as well.

Words and pictures don’t do the Crab Shack at Chimney Creek justice! It was truly an amazing experience and everywhere you looked there was something new to see!! Enjoy the video below of a lot of their atmosphere and more of our visit!

So be sure you head to Crab Shack at Chimney Creek when you are in the Tybee Island or Savannah, Georgia area! I promise you will have a fabulous time and leave full as well as happy!
