Car Ornament

This  Dollar Tree DIY: Tree Toting Car Ornament is simple to make and you just have to buy a few ingredients to make it your own. This would be the perfect winter day craft for you and the kids!! Create a tree toting car ornament with just a few supplies from your local Dollar Tree! Here is how you can get busy crafting your own.

Supplies needed:
Small toy car
Bottle brush tree
Hot glue, glue gun

1. Begin by cutting the bottle brush tree down to size. The good thing is Dollar Tree has several styles and sizes to choose from. Choose the smallest you can find that fits your car, or, use wire cutters to cut the tree to fit. When doing this, simply snip off the end of the tree to create a mini tree.
2. Add a generous amount of hot glue to the top of your toy car. Press the tree to the glue and hold it in place. See that it is secure. Fluff the branches if needed.
3. Once your tree is secure, you can add your ribbon for hanging. Cut a length of ribbon and fold it in half. Add  some glue to the fold and press it under the tree or to the side of the car.
When your ribbon is dry, your tree toting car ornament is ready to be displayed.

Place it on your tree with pride and enjoy making these with your kids. Just be careful when using the hot glue gun. We are having a Christmas craft day with my nieces and nephews soon and this adorable craft has made the list!! I love that it is affordable and easy to make! If you want to make it more personal, you could have the kids pick their favorite car toy out of their toybox so that it grows with them.

Happy Crafting!

This is too cute! We cut a real tree each year so this would be the perfect little family ornament to celebrate that tradition. Now I need to find a little red toy Jeep like my husband’s car ๐Ÿ™‚

Heidi, This is such a cute idea! I have to go to the Dollar Store to get stocking stuffers. I’m going to make these for my daughter and son-in-law. Maybe I can find cars they like to make them with. My son-in-law is an EMT?Paramedic so I’d love to find an ambulance to make one with. Thank you for the great idea ๐Ÿ™‚
