One of Liz’s and my 2 oldest nephew’s favorite shows growing up was Dora the Explorer and to say I could recite most of it would be an understatement. We had backpacks, maps, dvds, stuffed animals, Dora Dolls, you name it, we probably owned it. When the theme song started playing I had instant flashbacks of the three of them playing as kids do and a smile grew across my face. While one of the three is no longer here on Earth to watch the remake, I know he is smiling down on “Tater” our grandson because he will grow up watching Dora and The Lost City of Gold. He will even have his own “Dora Adventure Kit” for all of his adventures as he grows up. Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a ragtag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
