Elf On The Shelf Ideas
Elf On The Shelf is a great way to help keep your kids excited for Christmas. There is a plethora of ideas for Elf on the Shelf ideas to keep your elf up to a little mischief during the holidays but I wanted to be sure and add a few more to your rotation. I think that the hardest part of having the “Elf” is for the parents to remember to move him every night. So what I would suggest is setting an alarm on your phone for right before you usually go to bed. That way you get a nightly reminder of moving the Elf so you don’t have to think quick in the morning when the Elf is still in the same spot he was yesterday.
In case you forget to move him you can always use these excuses:
- Elf was sick last night so he didn’t fly back to the North Pole.
- Elf was sleepy last night so he slept right through the night.
- I scared him when I woke up in the middle of the night, and he thought it was one of you kids.
- Elf got into some glue and he is stuck down in the same spot. Maybe we can use a spatula to pry him up so he can move again.
- Google Elf didn’t move and you will get hundreds more ideas but remember to set an alarm and you won’t have to use any of them!
This Elf idea is simple and kids can always use new crayons! Grab a box of crayons at your local dollar store and set up your elf on the table with a quick drawing like above.
You can use bulb like seen above or even a string of lights, either one is sure to make your kid(s) grin when they see what Elf has been up too!
Elves and kids love puzzles right?? Buy them a new one or use an old one, either way will be a hit!
Use toothpicks and candies to help the Elf “build” something. Or you can even make a dumbell and make him or her an exercising elf.
Get the book above and elf can be kissing under the mistletoe or reading a favorite Christmas book.
Aluminum Foil Peek a Boo is always a hit with the kids!
So there you have it, 6 fun and easy Elf on the Shelf antics to get your Christmas holiday’s up and running. There is a plethora of ideas on the Internet, just remember to move him (her) every night! 🙂
