Five of the best games for your phone in 2020

Entertainment

When it comes to entertainment recommendations on this site, the usual options such as television shows like SpongeBob Squarepants or the numerous movies on offer via Netflix tend to get mentioned, alongside playing sports and the like. Mobile phones are another option to keep us entertained, though.

The sophistication in our smartphones these days has led to our mini handheld devices becoming a huge part of our daily lives. We can conduct any banking queries via an app on our phone, hone our gaming skills by reading a poker and slot blog at casino.com, or even book our next holiday. All this and much more is done at the touch of a few buttons, on a device which has made huge strides in recent times. Gone are the days of playing Snake on a mobile phone which resembled a brick, that’s for sure.

Gaming on a mobile is hugely popular at the moment too. Developers are taking the time to release console games simultaneously with their mobile versions of games, alongside a rise in terms of the variety of creations we can play on a smartphone. There are so many options to choose from!

To make sure you don’t waste your time on a dud, here’s a look at five of the best games for your phone in 2020.

Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart is a truly iconic game, which is why gamers rushed to download Mario Kart Tour on their mobile phone devices. While it’s not as good as the console version of the game, Nintendo has still treated us greatly with this release. A truly fun and entertaining creation, Mario Kart Tour features online multiplayer, it contains the characters we all know and love, and it’s free to play. When it comes to fun racing creations, you can’t really beat Mario Kart, can you?

Exit the Gungeon

If shooting, slashing and all-round chaos is your type of thing, then Exit the Gungeon is probably the mobile game for you right now. The sequel to Enter the Gungeon, Exit the Gungeon is a dungeon climber capable of keeping you entertained for hours on end as you battle through the levels looting and taking out enemies in your path.

Fortnite

Yes, one of the most popular games ever is now available on our smartphones. Fortnite, with its unrivalled mayhem, has made the transition over to mobile fairly impressively. You can play the game away from mobile and not lose any progress thanks to it being cross-platform (which enables cross-play). Although the mobile version of the game isn’t as sophisticated and clean as the console and PC versions, it’s certainly still worth downloading.

Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO isn’t a new game in 2020 by any stretch, but its popularity is still massive this year. The community of gamers still enjoying the game has enabled Niantic to keep pushing out new features and releasing new Pokemon on a fairly regular basis. If you enjoy walking and Pokemon, then this is probably the perfect game for you. If you’re yet to experience augmented reality gaming also, then Pokemon GO is a great place to start.

Hearthstone

A card-based strategy game with a humongous community behind it, Hearthstone features characters from the popular World of Warcraft series of games as you plan your way through what it a highly intense and strategic masterpiece. Rest assured, the game is easy to grasp but mastering it certainly isn’t.

Other games worth checking out are Sayonara Wild Hearts, Words With Friends, Minecraft, Monument Valley 2, Hatoful Boyfriend, Marvel Contest of Champions and Skate City.
