Freddie Prinze Jr and Dave Filoni Interviews

Interviewing famous people in an small room is something that each time I do it, I think “How lucky am I?” This time around while in Los Angeles we were taken to a screening of the new Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion and had the opportunity to set down and interview Freddie Prinze Jr and Dave Filoni. As we all know Star Wars is a huge legacy and something that many of us grew up watching. While I do admit, I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, this new animated version was fun to watch and made sense to even me!

After our screening we interviewed Dave Filoni who is the director and Freddie Prinze Jr who plays Kanan in the upcoming Star Wars Rebel: Spark of Rebellion. This awesome show will premiere on 10/3 at 9 pm on the Disney Chanel!! The New episode premiers 10/13 on Disney XD at 9 Pm! We all know that the Dave Filoni is wearing an old hat being involved with Star Wars but for Freddie Prinze Jr. it was a new and exciting chapter in his life.

But when he auditioned for the job it was titled “Wolf Pack.” But as he walked through Disney he realized that this indeed was a Star Wars audition and was super excited, nervous and of course freaked out because he was auditioning for such a legacy. After he pulled himself together, he went through with the audition and obviously was very successful because he is now Kanan in Star Wars Rebel: Spark of Rebellion

Dave Filoni thought that this was the perfect time to make up a new series because of the Disney purchase, wrapping up the Series, The Clone Wars and we wanted to take Star Wars into a new era. It is a special feeling, hopeful and exciting but at the same time they continued the legacy as well.

The Casting process went rather quickly because Lucas Film, the voice over actors and everyone involved worked together well and were all hard working. There wasn’t anyone “green” or new to it on the cast, but the more you work at something the better you become. So it worked out perfectly that they were all Star Wars Fans as well as respected so this cast passed the test so to speak.

We learned that he’s not a normal Jedi and a rebel of sorts if you will. But he doesn’t have it all figured out, but he still has to help Ezra and then ends up being transformed into a Master Yoda so to speak. “There is no try, there’s only do, but he makes mistakes because he is young and didn’t get tom complete his training in the way that Anakin or the way Luke could have.” Because Ezra grew up without a Father, he instantly put him up on a pedestal so to speak and he had to learn how to live what that responsibility. You can see Kanan kind of resist, and you can see him get sucked in because the way Taylor plays Ezra is, he may be a Smart Alleck but he knows how to  show you vulnerability and — and that’s what kind of gets me. Here are lots of great freebies for you to print in PDF form. The movie was shot like a play and the scenes in the beginning and end were the only ones they shot out of order. When Freddie Prinze Jr asked, if he could have a light sabre, Dave Filoni told him he wasn’t ready yet, but that in Season 8 he will get one. One of the other bloggers gave him her blue one so it at least had one for the picture below.
