Fresh Routes Delivers Fresh Food Straight To You!

One of the coolest part of my job as a blogger is being able to try new things! Fresh Routes is a great business that started in New York City by Josh and Sarah. They have some amazing meals that are ready to go in under 30 minutes and allows families to have a fresh meal even on busy weeknights! Fresh Routes allows everyone to have fresh foods in a kit and learn something while cooking dinner.

From the moment I placed my Fresh Routes order I was kept in the loop as to what was happening! I will have to say that the hard part was making my mind up as to which three meals I wanted included in my Fresh Routes Cookbox! But I finally decided on three and placed my order. As you can see from above I ordered Jamaican Jerk with Coconut Rice and Slaw, Thai Coconut with Rice Noodles and Japanese Peanut Noodles for my Cookbox. Not long after placing my order I received shipping notification and I waited for it to arrive.

While I was waiting patiently I received an email that included a shopping list for all of the meals included in my Cookbox. Which was a pleasant surprise that I didn’t expect. I saved the email and headed out to the store to pick up everything I needed for the three meals.

Then the next day my box arrived and I was ready to start cooking!

The first meal we decided to make was the Thai Coconut Noodles with Shrimp. Our meal was ready in under 30 minutes and the serving sizes were perfect. There was more than enough food for all three of us which was nice and the food tasted amazing! I loved being able to cook a fresh “gourmet” meal in my very own kitchen and it was much better than take out!

The Jamaican Jerk with Coconut Rice and Slaw was supposed to be cooked with salmon but I deviated from the recipe a little bit. Instead of using salmon I used Tilpia because I’m not much of a salmon fan, but either way you go it is bound to be delicious! The directions on the recipe papers are very detailed so even those that don’t cook can make these meals! The jerk is dry rubbed into the the fish and baked at 375ºF. The entire meal was ready to go in under 30 minutes which was nice because I didn’t have to spend an hour in the kitchen! Below is a picture of the amount of food you get in your box after it is prepared to show you just how much food there is for two people. I will say that the cabbage/slaw wasn’t something that we would eat again, but the fish and rice were both equally delicious and just a little spicy which was great.

The third meal was probably my personal favorite which was the Japanese Noodles. It was light, refreshing and just a little spicy which made it even more unique. After trying all three meals I will say that I can’t wait to try more of them because they were all easy to make and very affordable! I loved having everything I needed in one location and ready to cook. I even had a few spices and things leftover so I can order more noodles and have them again soon!

I really think it is a great concept especially for those that don’t “cook” from scratch. Because everything is there but fresh fruits, veggies and protein when it is shipped to you! It will allow everyone to cook from scratch and enjoy fresh meals at the same time!! Fresh Routes is the perfect solution for weeknight meals for busy families or even those who are just couples.
