Friday Funday at Lamberts
We left home Friday evening at 4 pm for a mini Vacay in the Branson/Springfield, MO area. After getting gas we headed to Ozark to eat at the Famous Lambert’s Cafe.
My sister Heather and her family along with an aunt and our mom met us there. As usual there was an hour wait, but it is well worth it! It was just under an hour so while we waited we visited about their trip to Florida. Foster party of ten was called and we went in to be seated. We were placed in a corner booth and quickly greeted with the familiar sound of “fresh hot rolls.” All ten sets of hands shot quickly into the air. As rolls flew our way we were anxious to get our hands on those delicious hot rolls.
Quickly the fried okra came and our paper towels were filled with fresh, crunchy fried okra. Then came the famous sorgum for the rolls. At long last the waitress came for our drink order, sweet tea most of the way around with a few Cokes thrown into the mix. When the waitress was bringing back our glasses, my niece Ivy’s eyes got huge and she said,”Those are huge! Are they for us?” And the ordering commenced chef salad, smoked pork chop, chicken fried steak, gizzards, catfish, and chicken legs.
While we waited on our food we ate okra, rolls, and visited. Then the moment came with all the food being delivered. More than you can eat with more pass arounds to come. Black eyed peas, fried potatoes and onions, and macaroni and tomatoes.
We ate until we couldn’t eat another bite. And took the most of the main dishes home with us. Thank goodness for the refrigerator in the motel. Then we sent the leftovers home with my sister so they wouldn’t go to waste. Our experience at Lamberts was fabulous as always. We are already looking forward till our next visit in the very near future. If you get a chance to visit Lamberts, you won’t bee disappointed with your experience.
