Frugal Fathers Day Activities
Father’s Day is just around the corner and each year we try to do something as a family instead of spending lots of money on material things. Keeping things withing your budget is always a great thing to do and here are a few things you can do.
Break out the board games that your dad played as a kid. Spend the night playing some of the games like Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, and Uno. These are games that have been around for a years. Hold a family game night with dad’s favorite games and snacks and you will make memories that last a lifetime.
Head outdoors and go for a drive to a local park, national park or even forest and do some exploring. Bring along a picnic lunch for a fun filled day of frisbies, baseball playing or other sports equipment your family has on hand.
Pitch a tent in your backyard or head to a local state park if you want to be more adventurous. While camping you can head to the river or lake and take dad fishing. Just make sure you plan ahead and make sure you have his fishing license as well as for those who are 16 years old or older.
Movie nights are always a hit at our house and picking up some action films are always great for Dad’s. Pop in a movie, have some popcorn and his favorite snacks and he will appreciate all of your hard work on this special day.
Use pictures you have around the house to make up a photo memory book like the one below. It is frugal and he will love seeing the pictures through the years. He might even take it to the office for all of his co-workers to enjoy as well.
No matter what you do for your Father this Father’s Day he will be sure to enjoy it. Take time to spend with one another and enjoy this day as a family! No matter what you decide to do the most important thing is that you are having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime!
