Hakuna Matata Ornaments Inspired by Lion King

Hakuna Matata Ornaments Inspired by Lion King
Hakuna Matata Ornaments Inspired by Lion King! When our daughter Liz was little we watched Lion King everyday, usually 2 or 3 times a day. We could both easily sing along and say the movie word for word. She is even still old enough (sort of) to remember wearing out the DVDS numerous times so I for one was thankful when I could finally upgrade them to DVDS! Oh how the times have changed. We can both still repeat them word for word but the viewings come further and further apart but the memories are there and we will both cherish them for years to come. This year our families decided to do homemade gifts instead of store bought, so our daughter and I have been busy crafting lots of Disney themed ornaments for you to enjoy. Some of the ideas we had include: Frozen, Pluto, Cinderella, The Lion King, Tinkerbell, Minnie Mouse, The Little Mermaid and several more! So be sure you following along for the next few weeks for new Disney themed ornaments.
So these are our absolute favorite of the ornaments we have created this year.

Directions:
-Begin by coloring your ornament the base color. In order to do this, pour a good amount of both the yellow and orange paint into the ornament and swirl it around until it has completely covered the surface of the ornament. They should swirl together.
-Next, Place your ornament upside down on a cup, or something like this in order to allow the excess paint to drip out and the ornament to dry completely. This could take up to a few hours.
-Let’s get decorating! Take your black paint pen and on one side write out the quote “Hakuna Matata””, you could leave it this way, or add to the Lion King effect by drawing a little lion on the other side, this is what I did!
-Tie it off with a black ribbon for hanging and you are all done!

Who is your favorite Disney character? Mine would have to be Mickey Mouse because after all without Mickey there would be no Disney! 🙂

I love that you and your family are doing only handmade gifts; that makes gift giving so much more meaningful, I think, and fun. They (and you) will always remember this. 🙂 Plus, I love Disney themed everything, and these ornaments are so cute and simple. I love your lettering. Did you freehand that? Oh, and my favorite Disney character: bahhh….that’s just too hard. Ahna from Frozen or Dog from Up. Thanks for sharing!
