Holly Candy

Holly Candy has been a family Christmas candy for as long as I can remember! We used to spend at least one day making candy with my Nana each year and spending time with her is one of the most cherished memories ever. Making candy always took all day but when we were done we had delicious homemade candy to give as gifts, eat at family gatherings and of course munch on whenever we visited Nana’s house.

Some of our must make holiday recipes include easy fudge, Divinity, Indoor Smores, Peanut Butter Flakes, Peanut Butter balls and course peanut Brittle. So this year we made candy as a family this past weekend and I decided I would share a few of  my family recipes with you all! Liz’s friends, the delivery drivers and employees at my husband’s workplace enjoyed the fruits of our labor and so far we still have enough to bring to our Christmas gatherings this next week. So for us it was a win, win situation because we made gifts from the heart and spent time together as a family which is what it is all about in the end!

I hope you enjoy Holly candy as much as we do!!

Holly Candy Recipe

30 large marshmallows

1 stick oleo (butter)

1 teaspoon green food coloring

1 teaspoon almond flavoring

Put all ingredients in a double boiler until melted then pour over 2 cups cornflakes. While still hot you spoon them onto waxed paper and garish with red hots. They are super cute to make and are  one of the easiest candies out there!!
