*I received a Copper Chef Wonder Cooker in exchange for this review, however, all opinions are 100% my own.
Homemade Chicken and Dumplings
You all know that I LOVE my kitchen gadgets, and anything that I can have in the kitchen to save me time and money it’s going to happen. I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Copper Chef Cookware and have been steadily adding new pieces to my kitchen collection and getting rid of the older pans I’ve collected over the years. The first piece of Copper Chef Cookware I had was the Copper Chef XL and it allows me to cook almost anything.
The second piece I added to the collection was the Copper Chef Sheet pan because our sheet pans had all seen better days. I love that I can cook fries, cookies, and prep BBQ items without sticking. Plus with all of the family members we have that show up for dinners, it’s nice that clean up is a breeze as well.
Then, while shopping a couple of weeks ago I added the Copper Chef 9.5 Inch Square Frying Pan With Lid – Skillet with Ceramic Non-Stick Coating. Which gets used almost daily for eggs in the morning and lots of goodies throughout the month. At first, I wasn’t sure I needed a smaller skillet in the house, I’m glad I have it now. It also works great for pancakes but I’ve added even more Copper Chef goodies to my kitchen now.
The Wonder Cooker is the newest addition to my star-studded Copper Chef line up and it literally replaces fourteen other items in my kitchen. Talk about a wonderful way to downsize!! The Wonder Cooker allows me to Deep Roast, Slow Cook, Deep fry and of course Bake! WOAH! Talk about a winning combination and if you add in Meal Prep you are one step ahead over everyone else!
Replaces Nearly Every Pan In The Kitchen With 14 Different Cooking Functions!
- Deep Roast is going to get great work out this holiday season, I even kicked my big “turkey” pan to the curb.
- Dutch Oven
- Stock Pan
- Shallow Roaster
- Dual Roaster
- Casserole Dish
- Deep Fryer this isn’t an option that we use very often, but I love that I have the option without adding another appliance to my kitchen.
- Slow Cooker-The Slow cooker feature is one that I use most often especially in the winter time because I love how it wars the kitchen up while it cooks our dinner.
- Steamer
- Electric Grill Pan Is one that will save us lots of in and out trips on nights that we want to make things like fajitas.
- Electric Skillet
- Chafing Dish is the perfect solution for those carry-in dinners and potluck suppers.
- Baking Dish is perfect for lasagna nights! *Which we have been having a lot of because it has been one of our daughter’s cravings while she is pregnant with our grandson.
- Grill Pan One of my personal favorites, because clean up is so much easier than any other method I’ve tried.
But today’s recipe is all about Chicken and Dumplings! It is one of our favorite go to meals that is perfect fo those chilly Fall and Winter nights.
Ingrdients
Whole Chicken
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Salt & Pepper
Poultry Seasoning
Chicken Broth (1 large box or 2 cans)
Flour
6 eggs well beaten
Directions for Chicken and Dumplings
Place chicken into roasting pan, and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion power about a teaspoon each. Then continue with salt and pepper to taste (usually a teaspoon), then add Poultry Seasoning and I use 3 Tablespoons, cover with water and put into the oven until it comes off the bone easily.
Remove the chicken from the broth and shred chicken and debone adding the chicken meat back into the broth. Place pan on top of the stove until the broth boils, add in your premade chicken broth (1 box or 2 cans). Then add a stick of butter and salt/pepper again.
Mix up your dumplings using 6 eggs, and about a cup of flour. Mix it in a little at a time and don’t over mix them or they will be tough. Once they are mixed well and no longer “sticky”, you are ready to drop in your mixture and make your dumplings.
Use a fork to create small pieces of dough, dip into boiling broth to remove them from the fork and repeat process until you are out of dough. Then allow them to simmer on the stove for 30 minutes to an hour.
Serve over mashed potatoes.
Now it’s time to up my Baking Game and make those pans all Copper Chef as well. Because the holidays are quickly approaching and we all know how much baking and cooking is involved in the holiday season.

That pan is gorgeous! I would love a pan like this! Also, I’ve never had chicken and dumplings. It looks like the ultimate comfort food. I will need to try to make it.

OMGOSH – I absolutely love chicken and dumplings. Sadly, my doctor thinks that a lot of my issues are derived from grains so no more flours or me 🙁 But next time I make up a pot for my family I’ll give your recipe a try!

Your dumplings sound delicious but I have never had them over potatoes. I usually just eat them alone but I will have to try that next time!

Chicken & dumplings is one of my favorite foods. I mean, I could eat it every day. These pans look pretty impressive, too.
