How to Eat Well When you Love Food
*I received a copy of the book in exchange for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own.
Do you love food? I do too! Whether it is good for me or just tastes delicious, I love to eat! It can be hard to eat well when you love food, but that doesn’t mean it is impossible. You can actually lose weight by eating everything you love. Here are some tips to eat well when you LOVE food!
Drink Water Before you eat:
Before you eat, drink a full glass of water. Although water won’t fill you up quite as well as food, you are likely to eat less if you drink water before you eat. It has, also, been proven that many times you feel hungry not because you are, but because you are thirsty. So, drink up your water!
Don’t Eat Processed Foods:
Processed food includes foods that are in a box, frozen, and even promoted as weight loss alternatives. Processed foods are made with all kinds of junk your body doesn’t know what to do with. If you can’t pronounce the ingredients, you probably shouldn’t be eating it.
Eat Whole Foods:
I can eat fruits, vegetables, and even bread all day long without gaining an ounce, but eating out a few days a week or cooking a couple “pre-made” meals can add the pounds quick. If you love food and eat often, make sure to eat whole foods with nutrients your body will use and burn such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains.
Make Healthy Swaps:
Do you like cookies? I love cookies, but instead of buying boxes of sweet treats, I limit myself to only eating what I make myself. So, if you want a sweet treat, make it homemade. Oatmeal cookies, peanut butter cookies, and even cake can be healthier for you when you make it from whole food items and in your own kitchen.
Regardless of how much you love food or how much you eat, you can be healthier and lose weight just by following these tips. If you mess up, don’t give up; try again! What other tips do you have for those who love food?
