How to Get Your Preschooler Ready for Kindergarten

Moms with young children are always concerned about how they will get their preschooler ready for kindergarten. You’re not alone. There are many ways you can start prepping your preschooler today, it just takes some time and energy to start preparing. A few years ago I introduced you to Teach My, a company dedicated to making fun activities for children to help them learn. Take a look at the previous review to learn about the Teach My Baby, Teach my Toddler and Teach My Preschooler sets. Now the sets are getting more detailed by talking about Baby Animals, The Solar System, Time and Continents and Animals. But now they have a new kit and it is designed perfectly for Kindergarten aged students, you can check it out here.

#1. Work on something daily – Your preschooler will need to know a lot of skills for kindergarten. Make sure you work on something daily. Counting, ABCs, washing hands, using manners, and so on. Teach My Kits comes with lots of activities that you can complete with your child in under 20 minutes a day, it’s the perfect match.

#2. Talk to your child – Talking to your preschooler is one of the best things you can do for them. Your preschooler will need to know how to communicate, ask questions, and talk to teachers/other students. Work with them on their birthday, full name, address and phone number and implement 20 minutes a day to set them up for success.

#3. Use a good curriculum – Your child doesn’t have to go to  actual preschool to prepare them for kindergarten. There are things you can do right at home to help you prepare your child, such as using Teach My Preschooler. This preschool curriculum is focused on helping preschoolers learn. Each set teaches children basic preschool knowledge but takes it a step further. The sets are even more detailed, from teaching the preschoolers about baby animals to time.

#4. Stay consistent in your teaching – The thing about teaching a preschooler is that it takes time and commitment. Working with your child on a consistent basis is very important. You’ll want to help them understand each concept before you move onto something else.

#5. Listen to your child – As you teach your preschooler, you will become in awe of how absorbent they are. Listening to your child is important, as you teach them. Pay attention to what they’re learning and how you can help them even more.

Teaching your preschooler takes time, effort, and a great resource like Teach My Preschooler, but it’s totally worth it. You’ll be surprised as to how equipped you are to help your child learn.
