How to Prepare Your Car for Spring
Spring is right around the corner and will be here before you know it. As you think about projects that need to be done around the house and yard, remember to add getting your car ready for the upcoming season. Here are some tips to prepare your car for spring.
Get a deep cleaning
Give your car a deep cleaning to wash off the harsh winter salt and snow. This means the underside of the car needs to be cleaned, as well. Wash the outside thoroughly and vacuum the inside. Don’t forget to clean out your glove box, and check your paperwork to be sure it is current.
Check, rotate and change tires, if needed
If you put snow tires on to help handle the roads where you live, they will need to be changed. Check the tread on your tires to rotate or replace, if it is needed. Having the right tires for the right season is vital to help avoid accidents.
Get an oil change
It is important to get regular oil changes to maintain your car’s performance. If you don’t need an oil change, then just check your fluids and top up whatever is needed. Remember to check your air filter and replace, as needed.
Check and replace wiper blades
Check and replace your wiper blades if they are worn. Cleaning off snow and ice can be a challenge in the winter months and wiper blades can take a beating. Replacing your wiper blades will help ensure your car is ready to take on any rainstorm.
Preparing your car ahead of time will help prevent problems later on. By keeping up with regular maintenance, deep cleaning, checking and changing tires, getting your oil changed, replacing your filters, and wiper blades, you will keep your car in top condition.
