Photographers love this software because It enables them to create instructions on how they want to edit an image without touching the original image file (just its thumbnail preview version). Modules of Adobe Lightroom

This photo editing software is divided into seven modules, which make it convenient for you to navigate the program. You can find them in the form of tabs in the upper right portion of the window.

The first module is the Library, where importing images, creating folders, adding keywords, and organizing your catalog happen. Next is the Develop module, where editing of images takes place (say, removing blemishes, brightening the photos, fixing red-eye, and the like).

The third module is the Map, where you can find a feature that allows you to explore the library based on GPS data for images. Then, there’s the Book module, where designing photo albums happens. The next module is the Slideshow, where you can create a slideshow of pictures.

Then, you have the Print module, where you can print the photos on your printer. And, finally, the Web module, where you can create galleries that you can upload to a site.

Importing Photos into Lightroom

Of course, you need images to work with using Lightroom. So, you can take some of the photos from your computer or import new pictures from a memory card or camera. For a little help, here are the steps of importing images into Adobe Lightroom.

  1. Connect the camera into the computer using a USB cable or insert the memory card into the card reader.
  2. Open Adobe Lightroom.
  3. Once the software detects the memory card, the Import window will automatically open. You can also click the Import button located at the bottom right of the Import dialog page or the one located at the bottom left corner of the Library module.
  4. Choose the photos you want to import.
  5. For easy search later, you must add keywords for the images.
  6. Then, import the images.

Editing Images

Editing photos using Adobe Lightroom is straightforward. You can either use Instagram-like presets to edit images in one click, or you can modify individual settings for more advanced and detailed editing. There are sufficient controls and features that you can find in the Develop module to polish and enhance images according to your liking.

Even in your mobile gadgets like tablets or smartphones, you can perform photo editing thanks to Adobe Lightroom Mobile!

Adobe Lightroom is the go-to photo editor that’s non-destructive, which means that every adjustment you do to an image is reversible. You can process and manipulate images in various formats, such as RAW, JPEG, PNG, DNG, TIFF, PSD, PSB, etc.

Exporting and Sharing Photos

Once you’re done editing, you can now export photos to various file formats, change their size and quality, or apply a watermark to preempt other people from stealing them. Then, you can share the images on different social media channels, such as Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Takeaway

If you’re a photographer or just an ordinary person who happens to love photography, consider using Adobe Lightroom to organize, edit, and export images. Follow this guide for you to learn how to use this photo editing software.
