You don’t have to eat every few hours

There are some myths out there when it comes to having to eat every two to three hours. This isn’t true, as eating so frequently can lead to packing on the pounds. Instead, listen to your body and only eat when you are actually hungry. Furthermore, drink plenty of water to help your stomach quell false hunger spells.

 

Low fat is most likely unhealthy

Typically, when a food product is low fat, this means it may have a ton of processed sugar in it. Many people think that if something is labeled as low fat, it has to be good for you. This isn’t always true, though. Chances are, refined sugars or oils were put in there to bulk up the product and will do nothing for you on a nutritional level. If you’d like to eliminate fat from your diet, focus on foods that are naturally low in fat like fruits, veggies, and grains. 

 

Watch what you drink

You may find that despite eating whole healthy foods, you may still feel stagnant with your weight loss. If this happens, look to see what you are drinking. You may be consuming empty calories with soft drinks, fruit juices, blended drinks, and alcohol. All of this excess sugar will signal to your brain that you still are not full, so you’ll continue eating and all those empty calories will stay in your system and develop into fat.

 

You have to feed your gut

There are millions of bacteria in your intestines known as the gut flora. This bacteria regulates your bodily functions such as digestion, and you need to feed it properly to ensure you can lose weight. The microbiome really thrives on soluble fiber, so the more fiber you eat, the faster you’ll be on the track to wellness success. 

 

You can’t outrun a bad diet

Nutritionists like to say that you will be able to lose weight if you focus 80 percent of your time on your diet and only 20 percent of your time working out. While staying active is incredibly important, there is nothing worse than filling your body with junk and then hitting the gym. Not only will a bad diet ruin all of your efforts in the gym, unhealthy foods won’t give you the right fuel to adequately work out.
