Interviewing Ginnifer Goodwin

*Disclosure: I received an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles for the coverage of several press events for Disney. All opinions are 100% my own.

Being in the same room as Ginnifer Goodwin was an absolute treat! It was probably the fastest interview ever and she was truly a genuine person the entire time we were there. It was just like sitting down talking to an old friend that you hadn’t seen in awhile! She embodies Sleeping Beauty, herself and Fawn to make them all work together and bring them all to life.

Ten Facts About Fawn

1. Fawn and Ginnifer both share optimism, faith, hope and a love of life and are animated in the same way.

2. Filming of Tinkerbell and the Neverbeast took 3 years to complete. This voiceover acting job was totally different than any other voiceover character Ginnifer had done in the past.

3. Ginnifer works hard to produce the expressions for Fawn and it is connected in a way that allows her to see the results she wanted. She stayed grounded, real and emotional all while being much longer than life to be Fawn.

4. Filming the movie took three years and they done it scene at a time so that way they knew where it was going and the structure was good of each scene. Ginnifer admitted that she said some lines hundreds of times and said it different ways until they got it sounding perfect for the structure of the scene.

5. Doing voice acting is harder and  more emotional that working on live action work, but it is the same kind of exhaustion, but more rewarding in the end.

6. learning how to do voice over was a bit of a challenge because it is different than live action filming. But even when she was pregnant and couldn’t stand for long periods of time Disney found a way to make Ginnifer comfortable while voicing Fawn. They brought in a bed, covered it in Disney stuffed animals and she worked that way. During some of the emotional scenes she had to get more physical to help animate Fawn.

7. Seeing the finished movie Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast was “bananas” as Ginnifer put it. She was only one element but seeing it all together it moved her, as well as her husband. There was even a little bit of crying going on for them both but there’s something for everyone in the way these stories are told.

8. Snow White and Fawn are different, but yet the same because she plays both parts. But because she started filming both at the same time there was a learning curve. Snow White helped Fawn and Fawn helped Snow White because all of her characters are extreme.

9. The most important messages coming from  Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast are:

Balancing your heart with your head, not judging a book by it’s cover and of course be a valuable team player. But most importantly it is to follow one’s heart and be balanced with the people around you as well.

10. What’s next for Ginnifer?? Family time, promoting Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast and of course Once Upon a Time, but mostly family time! 😉
