The Jungle Book Review
The Jungle Book Blu-Ray DVD package arrived at our house on a day that I never imagined UPS would make it down our drive. Mr. SMSL and I were super excited when it arrived because we grew up watching The Jungle Book as kids. When Elizabeth saw that it arrived, her response was, “Sweet, The Jungle Book, that’s my movie!”. Score for a family night coming soon, but the next day was a snow day so we as a family got to enjoy it together. I would have to say that the previews had my attention as soon as they started, Sleeping Beauty followed by The Muppets Most Wanted and then of course Frozen!! I LOVE Disney and each new movie they release I just fall more and more in love with the new ones as well as the old classics. There of course were a few more, but I want to leave some element of surprise to this old classic!!
The voice talents of course were: Phil Harris (Robin Hood, The Aristocats) as Baloo the Bear; Sebastian Cabot (The Sword and the Stone, Winnie the Pooh) as Bagheera the Panther; Bruce Reitherman (Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree) as Mowgli the Man Cub; George Sanders (All About Eve, Rebecca) as Shere Khan the Tiger; Sterling Halloway (The Aristocats, Alice in Wonderland) as Kaa the Snake; J. Pat O’Malley (Robin Hood, Mary Poppins) as Col. Hathi the Elephant/Buzzie; and Louis Prima (The Continental Twist Hey Boy! Hey Girl!) as King Louie of the Apes.

We absolutely had a great time watching this old classic. It was brighter in color as well as sounded amazing! But when it came to our favorite characters we of course had a three way tie. My favorite character is Bagherra followed by Baloo, Elizabeth’s was Baloo and Mr. SMSL of course loved King Louie!!
