Kubo and The Two Strings is an amazing movie that everyone needs to go and watch. While on the press junket trip last July I was able to see the finished movie and now I’ve watched it again on Blu-Ray. Kubo and The Two Strings tells a story about Kubo (Art Parkinson) that will go on an epic battle to stop the evil Moon King. Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) by his side he travels all over Japan searching for his Father’s magical armor. While on their journey the trio learn more about themselves, discover the truth and learn about the past.
Kubo’s quest to find the armor consisting of four important pieces is really a journey about finding himself. Which is really parallel to life if you think about it, because each decision we make leads to a new adventure in life. The movie is incredibly heartwarming as well as sad at times. But we all need to remember that what happens in the past doesn’t define us, and we shouldn’t let the past control us.
Here are a few facts about Kubo and The Two Strings.
- All of the main characters are actual puppets, on actual stages being moved at 24 frames per minute. (SLOW)
- It took filmmakers 5 years to finish the film. The detail was beyond amazing to see on the big screen.
- Even though letting go is hard all parents must do so in order to watch their child reach their full potential.
- Life has way of keeping us balanced.
- Paper runs out as does patience, just remember to always try.
Head out to pick up a copy of this amazing film for the entire family to enjoy. The entire family will love it and learn something about themselves in the process. I know that I did! Comes to Digital HD on November 8, 2016 and Blu-ray™ 3D, Blu-ray™, DVD and On Demand on November 22, 2016 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
