LegoLand Discovery Center Kansas City is a must see attraction if you are close to the Kansas City area. Being a mom of a teenager has it’s perks as well as disadvantages but I have several nieces and nephews to spoil so when it was time to visit LegoLand I knew Liz wouldn’t want to go. I was right, but that left the door open for my nieces Rain, Jade, and Kenna to be able to head to the city for a fun filled day!! It worked out perfectly because my sister-in-law Amanda was off that day as well, so off to Kansas City we went for a fun filled day.
After a small detour we found our way to the parking garage at Crown Center, parked the vehicle and snapped the first picture! It’s a trick I learned a long time ago when I couldn’t remember where I parked. So now that we have that taken care of we could head into Crown Center for a bite to eat. We stopped at the Crayola Cafe for a lunch so be sure to check all of that yumminess!! After lunch we started towards LegoLand and of course were distracted by the fountains because after all Kansas City is the city of fountains!
After our fountain picture we quickly walked over to LegoLand/Sealife and when we saw the line I was glad we had purchased our tickets online. That meant we could go in the shorter of the lines and get into the action quicker! I loved that they implemented Lego’s into the lines for the kids to play with as well as part of the partition they have truly thought of everything!!
Once inside we were greeted with very friendly staff and of course very unique decorations!! In front of each register was a different scene made from Lego’s!
At last we made it in through the waiting line and started our Lego’s adventure with a chariot ride to help save the Princess on Kingdom’s Quest! I tried to get a few pictures to share but it was to dark for all of that. And I was busy trying to help save the princess along with the other four in my party. But Amanda was the sharp shooter in the bunch, but we all had a fabulous time.
After our chariot ride we were whisked away into the magic of the Lego kingdom and saw so many neat things! We were in LegoLand for 5 hours enjoying the exhibits, play area, Lego Rides as well as the Lego Studios 4D Cinema and all of the Lego Friends play areas. The girls had a fabulous time and Amanda and I enjoyed ourselves as well. One thing is for sure, is that you could go back several times and still have things to see and do!!
When I asked the girls what their favorite thing about LegoLand was they responded with the following:Kenna- Her favorite ride was also the Merlin’s Apprentice ride, but only because you got to stay up high the whole time!
Jade-My favorite part was the petaling ride called “Merlin’s Apprentice. I found out later it was their first ever “big” kid ride!
Rain- It’s hard to say because it was all so fun, but finally decided it was the ride that you got to shoot all of the “bad guys” on the ride Kingdom’s Quest.
Amanda enjoyed the Kansas City exhibit as well as the 4D cinema! But we both agreed that it was a fabulous day!!
Here is a video clip of my favorite part of LegoLand Discovery Center the Wizard of Oz exhibit.
All in all LegoLand Discovery Center of Kansas City is a must go to attraction. I love that it is fun, interactive and educational and would make the perfect indoor activity on a rainy day! So be sure you head to LegoLand for a fun filled visit!! I promise you will have a great time!! Be sure to check out LegoLand KC on their website!
