Make Your Beauty Routine More Affordable With These Cheap Tricks

Health & Beauty

Being beautiful isn’t always the cheapest job in the world. In fact, it can get a little expensive, especially when you start considering all of the designer brands and treatments out there.

In this post, therefore we take a look at some of the dos and don’ts for making beauty more affordable.

Use Your Refrigerator

It sounds strange, but when it comes to beauty, your refrigerator is your greatest ally. It actually contains many of the same ingredients as some of the most expensive formulations. For instance, Greek yoghurt contains lactic acid which is able to break down rough surface skin and encourage new growth from below. You may also have a cucumber in your fridge. These contain all the phytonutrients your skin needs to be at its best.

Double Up On Your Berries

Okay, berries aren’t the cheapest item on your shopping list. But they provide exceptional bang for the buck. That’s because they contain vast quantities of anthocyanins. These are the compounds that give them their dramatic colors and have been shown in lab studies to enhance anti-aging in cells. You don’t even have to put them on your face. Just eating them provides the greatest overall benefit.

Get Your Hair Lasered

Think about how much time and money you spend removing hair. Not only do you have to dedicate fifteen minutes or more to it in the shower, but you also have to buy endless shaving and waxing products. Over time, the price soon adds up.

It turns out, though, that the cost of laser hair removal isn’t that bad when you compare it to traditional hair removal methods. Yes, you’re paying more upfront. But then you never had to buy razors or shaving cream again. Over the course of a few years, that can potentially cut your outgoings by hundreds of dollars, allowing the treatment to more than pay for itself.

Keep It Basic

Cosmetics manufacturers will try to convince you that you need every product in their range. The truth, though, is that you don’t. You only need certain types. For instance, there’s no point using multiple moisturizers if just one will suffice for your beauty routine. Similarly, you don’t need multiple toners or exfoliators. Once you have the tools for the task, stick with them.

Participate In Demonstrations

If you want to avoid the high cost of a haircut, you might want to try taking part in demonstrations. For instance, beauty classes often need to demonstrate how to perform specific cuts to students. The best way to do this is to work on a live model.

Of course, if you go down this route, you won’t be able to choose your style. However, you may be able to get the teacher to tell you which style they’re going to create beforehand, letting you know if this is the right choice for you.

Use Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the best-kept secrets in beauty. Plus, it’s affordable. In the hair, it acts as a great serum. And it can even act as a tooth whitener when swished.
