After you dine on your scrumptious kabobs, have some black forest cake for dessert because it is also National Black Forest Cake Day! Black Forest Cake is made of one or two layers of chocolate cake with whip cream and cherries between the layers, and additional whip cream and cherries on top. This dessert originated in Germany and is named for a German liquor that is distilled from tart cherries. This liquor is a mandatory ingredient of the cake in Germany.
