Meatball Sub Recipe

One of our all time favorite meals is a Meatball Sub! But we don’t like the price of them if we go out to eat them, so we learned how to make them at home for a fraction of the cost. When it comes time for meatball subs on our menu we pull out our meatballs from the freezer! Then they are thawed out and we use a can of our bought spaghetti sauce or our homemade sauce depending on what we are in the mood for.

Then we heat up the meatballs and cook the sauce at the same time until heated through. We love to use sub rolls that we pick up at our local bakery when they are marked down to half price, but if we don’t have those we just use hamburger buns. But you could even use hot dog buns if that is what you have on hand.

Then once the meatballs are hot we either use shredded Parmesan like you see above or sometimes we used sliced pepper-jack cheese for an added kick. Serve with a side dish like french fries, tater tots, cheese sticks, or onion rings to make your meal complete!

Homemade-French-Fries

One of our all time favorite sides is homemade french fries! But the secret to crispy fried french fries to fry them twice, which is very easy!

Cut your fries the way you want them.

After they have been cut you place them into cold water and place them into the fridge for up to overnight. We did about 30 minutes and they turned out perfectly.

Heat your oil to 325ºF then a handful at a time fry your fries for about three minutes. Take them out and drain them on newpaper or paper towel and continue to until you get to the end.

Raise your heat to 360ºF and repeat the process a handful at a time. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they are as brown as you want them. We prefer ours darker than most.

Serve up with your favorite fry condiments!
