Ok, so this one is going to tell my age a little bit but I’m ok with it. Back in my middle school days late 80’s early 90’s the best thing to happen during the school day was for the teacher to wheel in the TV and VCR. You know the kind I’m talking about the ones on rollers and the TV was securely fastened with a ratchet strap. Those were the best days ever right?? You know they were but one TV movie day has stuck with me all of these years. It was the day Mrs. Brinser our choir teacher wheeled in that trusty TV Cart for us to watch My Fair Lady. Now back in that day and age we didn’t get to watch much TV at school let alone a movie so we knew this had to be a treat.
The one thing I could remember about the movie was the professor trying to teach “Audrey Hepburn” to be a lady. While it wasn’t just her that learned a lesson, this movie has stuck with me throughout the years. When I plugged in the newly restored BLU-Ray/DVD I was impressed with the quality of the film and more. But I wasn’t watching it my living room, but that of the Adams Middle school in Trenton, MO surrounded by my classmates. I watched the entire film without doing anything else during that time, but the memories it brought back were so vivid.
